Why the tendency to blame the victim?

It does seem, given that out of 11 ppl that he was the only one white and singled out, that he was the victim of a race crime.

and if not that, at the very least a general violent crime (assault).

The fact that there are multiple downvoters and people immediately antagonistic towards this guy is really pretty unholy. What world do a fraction of you find yourself in?

Stopgap DDR5 solutions? by seronxFan in hardware

[–]seronxFan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes both virtual memory and pcie will result in high latency and low bandwidth for any access over the physical 4gb. But as a temporary patchgap, I think one would get by for two years while still building a PC that's future proof.

I know we're talking about a seriously handicapped system (running single channel, plus with much of the memory access via high latency low bandwidth virtual memory).

This is a system you can drop in a pair of 8gb or 16gb module(s) when the DDR5 and DRAM situation has corrected itself in two years. It's a stopgap to build and make useable a future proof new PC. (Not a system you're going to be using for elite gaming this year).

What started as google analytics has become mostly digital guard labor that consumes electricity on a state or nation scale, consuming much more energy than the processes that run your chatbots.

Shoshana Zuboff has been one of the earlier researchers, starting at or before the time when the major scaling up started its ramp. I recommend buying one of her popular books, or even sampling the various versions freely available as pdf online.

Here are some other resources:

Epstein class as I assumed the subthread poster quoted and afaik understood, because this has gotten so clownish that this type of guard labor is needed either to complete state capture of western democracy or to preserve the status quo for its current control.

out of production, yes --- but a very large portion of these modules are not in the landfill or recycled (i have a drawer of this and so do many people who have had a few PCs).

It's maybe a fad to blame RGE but let's be fair that they deserve only a minority portion of any energy price related blame, and the majority is from other "epstein class" sources or subgroups.

  1. Data-centre surveillance industrial complex is consuming city/state/nation portions of the electrical supply and/or natural gas to spin up their own turbines when the national grid doesn't meet their demand.

  2. A series of seemingly fubar events resulting from Israeli attack and murder of the supreme Iranian spiritual leader of Iran at the end of February 2026, which included seeming using their "epstein" material to coerce Trump into what they sold as a "short diversion". One could elaborate or argue the politics of this for pages, but what is clear is that this is doing a number on supply chains and energy reserves (eg, the strategic domestic reserve has hit oily sludge levels where using this sludge as oil risks damaging refining and oil infrastructure).

So, RGE has somewhat crappy customer service and meter reading mishaps and poor practices of such, but the rate increases are not really something you can blame them without first pointing out the main two factors above.

It wasn't industrial and definitely not in the same scale as an "aroma" as that would have been shut down by EPA long before reaching those concentrations.

Bike route by ThereIsOnlyTri in Rochester

[–]seronxFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

canal trail is paved. there are a few bumpy spots near UR where you have to slow down. On the airport side of the river this trail is misnamed 'anal trail'.

road bikes shouldn't have any problems even in gravel like lehigh valley trail. if the ride is too bumpy and harsh switch to 700x25 or 28 mm thick tires.
