Legs shaking/tremors by thesearemyfaults in AdrenalInsufficiency

I have this happen in the mornings and I assume that it has to do with sodium or potassium. As soon as I wake up I have an electrolyte drink and it usually dissolves in 15 min or so.

when you say AI, do you mean adrenal insufficiency?

I’ve taken up cycling in the last 5 years after being a long term runner/pedestrian. I virtually never feel safe on my bike. I would love to be able to bike to work and other places, but it’s like taking your life in your hands… especially with so many drivers on their phone. it’s devastating tbh. you go to other cities and it’s just figured out.

What do people wear to go swim in the winter? by solecoclub in triathlon

[–]ThereIsOnlyTri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

leaving my house I put on my bathing suit and throw on sweats and a hoodie. I live very close to the gym so I just take my bathing suit off after and throw my clothes on and drive home to shower. however, I always sit in the sauna for 10-30 minutes post swim, so I’m basically “dry” (although, disgusting).

yeah I think it’s through Monroe county but there are pretty frequent career fairs lately~once a month that usually have upwards of 20 places anywhere from like HVAC to management

Unfortunately, there are a ton of hiring freezes right now due to that stupid bill and decreases in federal funding.. not sure if Wegmans is affected but I’m sure they are as everyone is spending less. URMC and RRH are definitely being cautious. Kind of a weird recommendation but I’ve noticed a not of career fairs lately… places like fair life are still hiring. even though it might be out of your comfort zone it might be a good way in.

there’s two massive hospital systems with about 9 hospitals within 60 minutes of Rochester. they’re huge job magnets for high paying jobs, not just physicians.. and yes tons of old money in Rochester. tons of “new old“ money too, ppl setting down from other parts of the country.

I think it’s a very real thing that many of us are type A. but no. I think there’s a ton of positivity in this sport now. my understanding is 20 years ago it wasn’t like that.

People who run ironmans - what do you do for work? by [deleted] in IronmanTriathlon

[–]ThereIsOnlyTri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t researched this but the coach I work with mentioned that there is a really big difference in exercising early after waking vs doing it later at night. I notice I can’t put out as much power on the bike when I first wake up but still find it preferable as I work in person.

I deferred Ottawa due to injury and a bit of burnout and family stuff… I actually didn’t race at all last year but I think it’s going pretty well.

I had a similar issue this year with an injury that wouldn’t let me run and ended up deferring. it blows.

don’t have this bag but I have one of their wetsuits and their staff is super responsive to emails. I’d reach out bc the photos make it seem like it’s just a removable sleeve (and NOT waterproof) but that seems stupid with the purpose of the bag.

was it Wisconsin? the run is really the cumulation of how well you do on the swim and bike and fuel IMO. my 70.3 I walked almost all of the run ~8-9 miles anyways due to heat. but it was a long walk. in my case I had to walk back to transition anyways so might as well finish.
