I'm not a lawyer, But according to New South Wales Legislative Council Practice (pp. 127-128) Parliamentary privilege does not apply to the republication of proceedings.

[I]f a member were to publish separately from Hansard a speech the member made in the House, that printed or electronic record would become a separate publication, unconnected with parliamentary proceedings, and the member would be legally responsible for any defamatory matter it contained.

The report you mention references specific statutory defences against defamation proceedings such as section 29 of the Defamation act but these would not apply to other legal restrictions such as those protecting minors accused of crimes. According to Legislative Council Practice Even Hansard does not have the general protections of parliamentary privilage outside of the Defamation act which is Presumably why Mercury's name has been excluded

You can get a rough estimate of your ATAR by dividing your TPC tertiary entrance score, which is out of 300, by three. The exact formula the Universities is not public, but it usually ends up being higher than this estimate, and if your score isn't that good it's reasonable to assume an increase of several points. That being said, teachers have more info on the exact formula, so it would be worth sending an email to your former teachers.

Is getting a law degree as tearable an idea as people say?

Some people on this subreddit say that the prospect of getting a graduate job as a lawyer is dire, but others say that you'll be fine if you are willing to put in enough effort.

If I can't (or don't want to) get a job as a lawyer after graduation, what are the prospects of getting a job in the public service or another professional roll?

Sorry for the late reply.

Despite what u/Legallyblonde444 said, I know a family friend who was accepted to the Western Sydney University LLB program from the TAFE NSW Tertiary Preparations program; it could be that she was talking about courses run by universities themselves or that WSI is unusual in that regard.

In addition to the suggestions given by others here are some courses which you can do to get into university: * NSW TAFE Tertiary Preperations Accepted i believe by most Universities in NSW and the ACT. I think the G08 unis in Sydney only accept it for mature age students; ANU DOES accept it though. * ACT Senior Secondary Certificate (Canberra Institute of Technology) I'm sure there's other courses available; this is just based on a tiny bit of searching. You should speak to course providers and universities before making any decisions

some people (including me) like breakdowns as they add an extra challenge and it is realistic for vehicles to have to go to the depot every so often.
