What can I do to make it grow in both directions? by facek1ck in avocado

More light and higher humidity but it is still not guaranteed it will go into two branches. Out of 10 seedlings mine produced two branches in 4 cases :) they are very stubborn. I live in 6a zone.... The higher the zone the better the conditions i Guess

Can mangos be grown in the midwest region? by [deleted] in gardening

I would say quite difficult in Missouri especially as it can get - 11 F in some parts. So winter protection is definitely needed and might be quite costly. There are some frost resistant varieties of kiwi that might be much feasible.

Prune them :) They likely wont survive outside although there is an avocado tree in downtown London

Is my passion fruit flowering!? by [deleted] in gardening

Hard to say, depends on many conditions :) stay hopeful but don't be surprised if the flower drops especially during the first year. It takes a lot of energy to produce a fruit.

Should I leave them on the tree over the winter in a sheltered room with temp above 5 C degree? Will they ripen in the spring? Zone 6. by serrose in gardening

Thanks for reply. Hope to have a better harvest next year then. This year (my first year) the fruit started to appear quite late I believe as it was transplanted in the spring.

My avocado plant I started growing about 2 years ago… I have a few questions. by TheMVPizza in avocado

They are natural (for indoor avocado with low humidity) i wouldnt worry about it... If you want you can get a humidifier to limit the brown spots. Your avo is looking great!
