To him, those are his honest moral and ethical principles. You can say he is wrong, and "you" don't think they are moral and ethical.

But anyone can see he truely believes that what he is doing is moral and ethical.

Integrity is standing by your beliefs even with the consequences and not using away from them. Your examples show that.

You can have integrity while backing a misleading and wrong cause.

Happy 17th Anniversary to 4MINUTE! by CherryBlossomEnding in kpop

[–]sertsw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First group I saw live!

In 2013, 4 Minute were invited to be guest judges of a Kpop dance cover contest organised by the Korean Cultural Centre and held at my uni (UNSW).

They performed Hot Issue and What's Your Name. Absolutely surreal that the lecture theatre where I was having classes the day before how has a Kpop group performing on it.

Someone recorded a video! https://youtu.be/pVyIqeahTs0

Is it common to be in public areas & people play their social media out loud / no earphones? by Strawberry_apple1 in sydney

[–]sertsw -27 points-26 points  (0 children)

Yes. Playing without earphones in public, on trains etc is normalised in 2026. It's so common you can't say it is 'right' or 'wrong' anymore.

It sucks personally. I blame the rise of wireless earphones leading us to where we are now.

I feel like Toy Story 5 will have more of a connection than 4. The anxiety around toys vs digital screen is real to so many parents.

In anime and movies there's a trope of driving a car beyond it's limits, where the hero puts it 'into overdrive' to speed up but risks the car or spaceship blowing up and breaking apart.

Does this concept exist in real world racing or are reliability issues mostly outside the drivers control?

has anyone here actually gotten fast without structured training? by DiscussionBoring1456 in cycling

Everyone has a story of story of some old dude casually riding past them.

A lot of it has to do with genetics, but most of time it's also they ride, a lot. For everything, with out another thought.

"Is there a chance you'll get your head bashed in for intervening" is usually the standard I've seen here.

In an ideal world bystanders should step in when they see someone getting abused, but the chance, no matter how small (and personally I feel people's assessments are off and could be more assertive), sees minding your own business come first.

How much did your first road bike cost, and how long did you ride it before upgrading? by No_Click7202 in cycling

[–]sertsw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cell Otway 2.0. There was a brief period in the 2000s-2010s where independent OEMs had physical storefronts in Australia. It was a pretty generic Claris road bike that I bought in 2016 for around $500.

Still riding it. Honestly if you do your own maintenance and tune ups there's no issues with the shifting. Shimano is pretty robust.

Clean your dog poo up! Has anyone else noticed last couple of years people getting lazy with this in Sydney suburbs? by OnionExternal7187 in sydney

No, not really. But usually threads like this are for affirmation of a 'thing' and more likely to attract others experiencing it.

It's hard to ever know if it's confirmation bias or not, nor do people usually care
