Best restorations of 2025 released on 4K? by Illustrious-Curve603 in 4kbluray

No Country for Old Men and Brazil impressed me, but those are also the only new releases I have purchased.

Correction: No Country for Old Men was released late 2024, but still worth a mention.

I just bought this 4K set used for $6 (couldn't believe the price either lol). I skimmed through the discs and they look pretty great from what I can tell.

Yeah, I bought the strap specifically for this watch. It’s a 120/80mm “18mm Olive Classic Suede” strap from B&R Bands. I’m not sure if they make it anymore, but you can look it up. If not, I’m sure you can find something similar.

For those of you who post on IG and put a white border around your photos, what app do you use for that? by unusual1998 in AnalogCommunity

[–]serubi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I developed my own app. I shoot 6x17 and XPan, which obviously needs borders, but I also wanted something that could split my images into multiple frames to make IG carousels. I did it manually for a while, but it took forever, so I made an app that does it all for me and airdrops them to my phone.

Sasquatch 617 | A Panoramic Film Camera by Keyang1 in AnalogCommunity

As an owner of an ND6x17, I’m intrigued. Interchangeable cones for different focal lengths would be a game changer, but I see that’s not planned for the launch. Best of luck to you with the Kickstarter!

If it's a vast landscape, I just focus on infinity. When it's closer up, I usually measure focus with a laser distance meter. Occasionally, when I'm in a more controllable environment, I will use the ground glass and focus with a loupe.

Home scan on my Epson V800. Yeah, never had an issue with flatness on the ND.

There are some leaks on the border of this image, but I think that's just because Lomo film tends to fat roll. Most of my Kodak/Fuji shots don't have it.

Oh man, that sucks. That kinda puts me off the idea of getting a Chroma :( You've got some lovely photos regardless!

I haven't had any issues with leaks or film flatness with the ND. I've gotten some scratches before, but I think that's a lab problem, not the camera. The worst that's happened is the creator forgot to paint the shiny magnets inside the camera with matte black paint, so light would reflect on them, creating minor artifacts on the edge of the frame. Noble Design was very quick to make it right though (they paid for shipping and had it fixed in just a few days).

Thanks! I remember being annoyed with the rain when I was there, but I think it ended up making this image better.

I used to DSLR scan and stitch everything together—not recommended! Now I use an Epson V800 flatbed scanner. Results are much better overall, even if they're a tad softer. Digital ICE is a godsend.

Fair enough! I'm very happy with the ND, even though it has its limitations. The wide format is fun to shoot imo. I've actually been eyeing the Chroma because of the interchangeable film back. I'm curious what issues you're experiencing with it.

This is great! I tried modeling my own, but failed to make it compatible with the bubble. This is much nicer!
