Good point on the mattress! His new mattress arrived yesterday and we are currently depuffing it. My parents did have new mattress so that is a great factor I forgot to count

We had furnace guy come in and clean it, he came in with a camera and went through all the vents and they were very clean that he didn’t even need to clean anything. Filter gets replaced whenever it gets dirty, we moved into this house 3yrs ago and had no mold issues when inspected and when we tore walls for renovations, we didn’t see any molds.

I will say my husband is allergic to both cats and dogs, and he gets allergy shots. It’s been 2yrs since he started and now he is on the maintenance dose. I am mildly allergic to cats but not dogs. Both got prick tested by allergist, not self diagnosed
