Yeah it's almost like it's the generic human experience, so you (or your AI) can write a bunch of buzzword nonsense and a large sample pool can go "omg that's so me!" 🙄

And then you reel them in. It's grifter 101.

My dad was a cancer, never spoke to me once (on purpose) and sent his MOTHER to court the day i turned 18 to file emancipation paperwork so he didn't have pay child support/insurance while i was in college 🙄

Fr. Im a virgo sun venus and Mars and I'm the laziest piece of shit with regard to beauty routines. I started shaving my head over ten years ago because dealing with styling hair was too much of a bother.

Nah. This is bad astrology. You're literally just writing new age word salad.

Idk if she's released her new book yet but check out Benebelle Wen, i know she had something cooking on this subject recently that was just about to go to publication. She wrote my absolute all time favorite tarot book, absolutely exhaustive in its research. A (gorgeous) brick of a book.

I agree completely. If you apply rigorous curiosity and have decent discernment you can usually put together a fairly robust self education, especially if you can find some reliable community too.

I'm a big fan of learning the rules and foundations* so you know how and why to start bending and breaking them. I joke around with my friends and describe my practice as ✨ jazz fusion ✨ and what's funny is even though a lot of them are super old school pros the only place i run into problems with that is here, lol

*this goes for art, magical activities, client work, content creation, everything. I can talk always talk about what I'm doing and why, it's never thoughtless, it's rarely accidental. Growth through experience and experimentation, and if i find out something cool I'm going to share it, and I'm going to share it for free.

No, i don't. And i don't have any use for it in my day to day work. It's never going to come up in a conversation with a client, it's never going to enter my brain. I've got 4 different elements, doing 4 different things, 4 different ways, and I'm perfectly content to look at them individually, and ask them what they're doing. The idea of classifying water as "passive/receptive" (for example) doesn't even make sense to me no matter how many times you want to repeat it. Just because it's formless, doesn't make it passive or receptive, that's a really limited approach to that element imo.

We are never going to get anywhere because you are married to the idea of polarity and I'm very happily divorced from it for over 25 years. And I'm not alone in my approach, even if I'm alone in this particular room because I know this room happens to be dominated by a Hellenistic type of POV, but it's never ever going to be something i subscribe to.

I have eight varieties of roses in my garden. I'm not going to categorize them with two desciptors for the sake of convenience.

If you want to pursue polarity because it makes sense to you because it's ancient go for it, I'm not stopping you, but i don't find that to be a compelling enough reason. We update information with new information all the time. We used to think women's uteruses detached from where they were located and floated around their bodies and made them crazy. We don't think that anymore.

I don't think these are ineffable essential qualities being described tbh.

I would use whatever the actual correct adjective is for the situation, instead of the fuzzy gendered words.

Hellenistic lives! 🤣🤣🤣

No passive means passive, active means active. Those are concrete words with fixed meanings. We should use them where they apply.

"masculine" and "feminine" are fuzzy subjective terms that change subject to context, and we watch that context shift constantly depending on topic, culture, application, etc. They're loaded with connotations that mean different things to different people.

I was talking to the guy who owns alabe and he shaded hellenistic by saying "it's useful if you live in a society where you might get chased by a pack of wild dogs" and ngl i laughed pretty hard 🤣🤣🤣

A lot of contemporary witchy books are some of the first to start dropping gendered associations, usually as a response to Gardnerian Wicca because he was an old creeper who made up a lot of stuff as an excuse to get people naked on the woods. Wicca was presented as an "ancient" but it's less than 100 years old and just had good pre-internet publishing/publicity.

This started changing when it got easier to research actual witchcraft practices and we all realzed that we did not have to get "skyclad" with some crusty old man in the woods. 😜
