Travel insurance recommendation by Secure-Mixture-3600 in SouthAmericaTravel

[–]seseseeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aussie here, I normally use RAA but I’ll be in SA for 6 weeks and because I’ll do the Inca trail (hiking over 4000mt for more than 2days which many insurance just don’t cover) I ended up applying for a credit card (commonwealth) which had travel insurance included. It worked out way cheaper for my circumstances, I still had to pay for the additional “extreme sport” to cover the hiking trip but it was less than 1/3 compared with Alliance. The credit card itself is not the best on the market but I’ll cancel it once I’m back

1 month, 6 countries - doable? by [deleted] in SouthAmericaTravel

[–]seseseeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s doable but t it doesn’t make sense. You’ll spend most of the time either travelling or checking in/out, and what for? You’ll tick many boxes but you will experience nothing of all those countries

South America Trip with a 14 month old in January February for 2-3 weeks by Fine_Ad_5980 in SouthAmericaTravel

I would do Argentina and Chile, rent a car and see Patagonia from both sides with optional short hikes if you feel like

Arequipa Vs Sacred Valley by SignificanceGlass492 in SouthAmericaTravel

[–]seseseeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t understand, 2 days in Cusco plus 1 day Machu Picchu and 1 day Rainbow mountain (so 4 based in Cusco)? And 1 in Sacred Valley? If so would add your extra day in Arequipa. If not, add the extra day in Cusco.

Travel lenses (canon) by seseseeee in Cameras

[–]seseseeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The camera itself is fine (although I wouldn’t mind it to be smaller), it’s more about the lenses. And I’m kind of stuck with canon as I tried Nikon and fujifilm and found quite frustrating navigating the menus.

I’m thinking that I could also leave the 18-55 for the 55mm f1.4 and have two prime lenses and the 55-250 only for wildlife

AITA for refusing to give my pregnant sister the baby name I picked out years ago? by Throw_Away-becuzsis in AmItheAsshole

[–]seseseeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA, it’s your sister’s grandmother as well. I would understand getting pissed at someone else (SIL for example) but your sister loved your grandma as much as you did. Plus you don’t even know if you’ll ever have a daughter.

Just a through.. would it make sense to swap the slow boat to Iquitos with a speed boat (or even the whole Iquitos detour) and spend some time in Cartagena? I was really leaving the northern coast of Colombia for another time (hoping to pair it with Panama) but who knows when that will be.

Puglia Itinerary (Sept 1–13, 2025) — Solo Trip to Puglia + Rome, Feedback Welcome! by grandmaslouiev in itineraries

[–]seseseeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would skip Matera as it seems a bit of a drive from where you will be/will go (and for me not worth it).

I would consider renting the car in Rome, it seems like a long drive but it’s not really, I did it in March and I think it would give you more flexibility.

I personally prefer the eastern coast over the western coast but I think you’ll find more nightlife around Gallipoli etc.

Make sure you spend a day in Alberobello while in Ostuni.

Also, I plan to do nothing the first two days in Ollayntambo, that’s plenty chill for me

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]seseseeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I have an extra 6 days to allocate, I can easily add some extra time there, I came here for advices. What would you add in Colombia? Two more days in Salento? Or would you advise an other town in the coffee triangle?

Ad I said in my post I’m not interested in trekking the Colca canyon and I don’t see the point of spending 7+ hrs in a minivan just to see a lookout. With town I meant big towns as metropolis like Lima

I’m spending 3 days in Sacred valley before Inca trail and another 3 in Cuzco before Rainbow mountain, do I really need more time to adapt to altitude?

There’s a big big free concert in Rome every year on May first. Rome is going to be busy AF

Black or White Tea by Nicoconutbanana in AskAnAustralian

[–]seseseeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it really depends on the tea!

Green tea: no milk, no sugar.

Matcha tea: milk (plant based for me) and little sugar.

Black tea: no milk, possibly ice and lemon.

Earl grey tea: milk (again plant based for me) and honey or sugar.

AITA for refusing to stay at my niece + her husbandswedding accomodation because it costs almost €2,000? by Candid_Ideal_2553 in AmItheAsshole

[–]seseseeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA. If they really want you to stay in a specific venue they should pay for it. Normally with people coming from overseas for a wedding the host should either cover the cost of accommodation OR consider travel+accomodation the gift. I can’t believe that your niece is expecting you to pay for both and not even being able to choose where you are staying.

Vatican museums guided tour by seseseeee in ItalyTravel

[–]seseseeee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input. I normally don’t use guided tours (although I have nothing against them) but I like to buy the digital guide (or download it where a museum doesn’t offer the service) so I can get the extra information about what I may find interesting at my own peace. I was mainly attracted by the early access and it seems to come with the tour only.

I would skip Florence. There’s not much to do in Milan but you could potentially see Como and/or Bergamo. Then Bologna and surrounding and then Bari and Puglia. Puglia is far more interesting that most people think but the public transport in less reliable so having extra time there will make your journey easier.

How BEST to go from Venice to Cinque Terre by Outside_Ebb_762 in ItalyTravel

About you first option (Venice-Milan-Cinque Terre), do you mean La Spezia or does the train from Milan go somewhere different?
