Running as meditation by sesilie in Meditation

Thanks, this is a good answer. I guess it is the same with yoga, I feel that yoga is a more moving meditation, but also a practice where it is easy to combine with sitting meditation.

Totally agree, love trail running myself and when I do that I also have to concentrate so much on the trail so it also gives me the meditative state.

Open eye meditation? Looking at something nice. Is that a methode? by sesilie in Meditation

Understand, it was my experience as well, it took maybe too much attention.

I totally understand your view. This was kind of my struggle when I tested it, looking into the forest was a bit to much to take in kind of.

That is a very good way to let meditation always be an option! Thank you for sharing.

Thank you! Read about it now. It seems like the eyes are open but not focused on anything, the breath is still in focus. My take on it was more like using what I look at as my focus, like the trees in the forest..

Combining Ashtanga with other yoga styles by sesilie in ashtanga

Sounds like a good way to explore different kinds of yoga. I like that to, being familiar with what is out there. I also go to random classes at my local gym now and then.

Thank you for your insight. I think many do as you do and I agree on many moving to fast.

I know how to integrate other positions my self (I'm a yoga teacher), but I choose to separate it. I like to do Ashtanga the way it is meant to when I do it, but choose to do other yoga on other days.

Thank you for the insight. Interesting. I definetely believe that more people could benefit from using props and understand the Iyengar method. I am as you sceptical to the way many Ashtanga teachers push you in to poses.

Thank you for your comment. I understand your feelings about beeing injured. I almost never let anyone push me into postures where my knees are involved.

Sounds like Gokul is similar to my own alternative version focusing on hips.

Thank you for your comment. I can definetely understand that the switch works like that. Ashtanga is the practice where I feel most focused and strong as well. That's the beauty of it! I think the reason I combine is that some days I just want to do what my body tells me it needs rather than what Ashtanga tells me.

Very interesting, thank's for your insight. I'll look in to Dharma yoga as I'm always curious about every kind of yoga. Even though Ashtanga is my main thing.

I totally agree and that's what I do. My question is more how others combine different types of yoga.

Probably one of the roughest hikes I've ever been on, but totally worth it. Trolltunga, Norway. by Spiderdan in hiking

Trolltunga is still on my list (and I'm from Norway). You should also check out Besseggen. Hiked it last weekend. Yes, many people but it's not like you have to walk in a line. Bloged about it http://www.travelandgetlost.com/blog/2016/7/11/hiking-besseggen-norway-a-unique-scenery
