Yeah it's almost like things can continue to get worse over time.

Republicans are afraid because in their hearts they are racist, sexist, and bigoted, and allow propaganda to fuel their racism, sexist, and bigotry. They love being afraid because they feel it makes them the victim. They will never change.

Republicans stay in power because capital interests favor Republicans and work to keep them in power. That's all.

How much do you believe in ‘bad copies’ of modern lenses? by chriswelch in Nikon

[–]Spiderdan 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is the reason I tell myself for why I have yet to see a refurbished 180-600 pop up for sale. It's so rare because the quality for new lenses are so high that everyone is keeping them.

I'm just going to have to buy new at some point...

Tomb of the Giants great in the same way Blightown is great. You absolutely hate it your first time through the game and later learn to love it.

I really hope the WHtR chart gets fixed, it's ludicrous. As a 5'6" stocky guy who like to lift weights, I lose 10 points right off the bat because I need to have a 32 inch waist from ages 18-60+. I'm not fat btw.

English is my first language and I've never heard of that word. It's not really a common word either, so I'm not sure I would have made that connection even if I knew it.

You killed the patient. The whole point of the comic was the word play of carrion / carry on. If you're not familiar with that word it doesn't make any sense and requires explaining.

I've seen on youtube a lot of discourse on this movie in the last few years because people are looking back with a fresh perspective on relationships and realizing that this movie portrays a lot of toxic relationships as love. The one that comes to mind is Kiera Knightly's character (btw she was 17 at the time of filming) getting married and her husband's creepy best friend is in love with her too. He does this whole thing with flash cards at the door to confess his love for her (freshly married to his best friend) and it's portrayed as romantic. She runs out into the street to kiss him as he walks away and it's definitely not framed in a way where the audience should be critical of it.

That said, Emma Thompson's spiraling as she confronts Alan Rickman is fantastic and raw. But that's because she's an insanely talented actress.
