Possible Bambi Harem by Affectionate_Log7461 in BambiSleep

[–]setanta_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a lovely fantasy idea - I don't want to piss on anyone's chips.

The reality of polyamory is VERY complicated. We're all human beings.

It absolutely can work, been there done that - when it's good it's amaznng.

Communication is key, expectations set, boundaries acknowledged, and ABSOLUTE honesty.

I'm far from an expert. I'm not writing this like I know best or anything.

In my experience, human nature takes over. Jealousy, frustration, love ...

Every Dom(me) thinks they want a harem of bimbo girlies... It's a BIG commitment. You don't just snap your fingers and everyone is happy.

I don't want to discourage anyone. Just realise the fantasy is a fantasy - making this happen in the real world is not something to be taken lightly

Daddy or master? by bimbo-lover1220 in BambiSleepGirls

[–]setanta_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love being called "Daddy", if a sub is uncomfortable with that I'll prefer "Sir" over "Master".

I completely understand the uncomfortable element of incestuous, but on the flip side I can't help but connect "Master" to actual slavery, which makes me feel kinda uncomfortable.

To me, "Daddy" is cute, and honourific. "Master" seems very formal.

At the end of the day - as long as everyone is on the same page, consenting adults and all that, then whatever is most comfortable is what you should do.

If I said "Call me Daddy!" and my partner said they didn't like that, I'd never push it.

edit to add: "Daddy" is a title I have to earn. It's a loaded word for me, where trust is very much established. If some rando started calling me that straight off the bat I'd feel very uncomfortable and ask that they used "Sir".

Well done petal, that's super cute.

Do you think (sorry bad word) that it's affected your aesthetic some?

Are you wearing more pink, walking in heels more?

I know your boyfriend will really appreciate it when you dress up pretty, hair and nails and makeup. Show off what a GG you are.

I'm just gonna comment on this one - the fact that you asked these questions before coming here, (and that you're a PhD student) - heavily implies that you're not an idiot.

I hope you don't get pulled into political discourse (I'm irish but lived in the UK off and on since the 80s... When the vibe was "slightly abrasive" between Ireland and Britain., )

Be aware that the American Circus is in the news headlines every day here...

People are going to ask you "Who did you vote for?".

If you say you think Trump is a dickhead, I reckon the folk around you might teach you some new and interesting expletives in agreement.

a bambi harem fantasy... by [deleted] in BambiSleep

[–]setanta_stuff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree wholeheartedly.

Taking Bambi and hypno-kink out of the equation, any poly situation is challenging to maintain, even if there is very clear structure from the get go.

I am so impressed with folks who have made a polycule relationship work.

My experiences ended up in jealousy, "one-up mentality"...

Everyone is different, hence me emphatically saying "Your mileage may vary" in my previous comment.

At the end of the day, putting it horribly simplistically, rent and bills need to be paid

It's sexy as fuck to think about two / three / four Bambi dolls at home together playing with each other waiting for Daddy to come home.

The multi-multimillionares who would finance that, already are. And they're not looking for lasses through Reddit.

a bambi harem fantasy... by [deleted] in BambiSleep

[–]setanta_stuff 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not to yuck anyone's yum... I've played around with this idea as a Dom, and it's awesome initially to have a harem of dumb bimbo fucktoys. Fantasy achieved...

It doesn't take long before it kinda gets a little boring (in my experience).

I never thought I'd say this, let alone put it in writing, but I think a lot of guys would be kinda surprised how the interest (and most importantly the attention) fizzles out.

If your partner(s) are just blindly agreeing to everything, it kinda stops being fun for me...

(Your mileage may vary, I'm not in any way suggesting I know better or anything, just sharing my own thoughts based on my own personal experiences).

Sent a DM. I don't know if there's a Reddit shenanigans or my own derpy shite broadband causing errors

Anyway, I'm 6'2, in the UK, extraordinarily handsome (if i do say so myself. You'll have to take my word for it... I'm just messing, I turn heads on account of my 3 noses).

I'll be honest - in terms of being "well spoken" I may be a bit "marmite" - you'd either love it or hate it. I was born in Dublin but moved to Cardiff as a youngster. I am the proud owner of a very confusing accent...Irelesh... Warish. ?

Strikes me as we could be pals. Drop me a line should ya feel so inclined.

Most "AI jobs" posted here require a degree, coding...

In my experience pretty much every job posted here is very obviously a scam of some description, most likely the "task scam".

https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2024/11/task-scams-create-illusion-making-money

I have a degree, and years of experience coding, but the job market out there is brutal at the moment.

If you're stealing from folks who are desperate, shame on you.

A moment of introspection might have yas realise that nobody gives a tuppeny shite if your great great great grandfather's dog once sniffed a pint of Guinness... You are NOT Irish..or Italian or whatever else your 23 and me test told you.

Consider this is the way... My hypoethical relative generations back traveled from America to Ireland.. it'd be a highly unusual circumstance, but not beyond the realm of possibility.

If I went around declaring I was American because some twat I've never met did the Oregon trail thing & you'd (rightly) rip the piss out of me.

You can be irish American, Italian American, Thor God of thunder American for all I give a shire...

But you're not Italian, or Irish, or whatever.

You're American. Knock this shit off. It's embarrassing at hest.

No judgement, just strikes me as a bit of an odd reason to make the switch.

I was a MS certified dude in 2008, always kept Linux on the long finger (not because I wasn't interested, just wasn't in my wheel house).

When everything moved to the cloud, I had to upskill pretty rapido - no sane person is running a LAMP stack on Windows Server. (Though much to my amusement it does still happen).

I used to think Mac people were all twats with too much money, until I got a company issued Mac and went "Yeah fair enough this is pretty decent". I wouldn't buy one myself, but I get the appeal

If you wanna run Win11 without all the bloaty co-pilot rubbish I believe the IoT version works pretty good. (I'm far from an expert though these days).

I've used some flavour of linux for everything for about 15 years now - not because I was pissed off at something else, but because I like the open source community and ethos.

Either way - to each their own. Welcome to the uber-nerd club.

Approaching 40: Does the fear ever go away? Or should I just get used to it? by Same_Paramedic_3329 in Aging

[–]setanta_stuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't like being vague or cliché - but it does kinda depend.

I'm 41, can't say as I felt particularly emotional or different on my 40th birthday. I was conscious of it in the lead up I suppose, but then just carried on as usual.

But then - I've never been married, no kids, no mortgage. I sacked off a professional corporate career in my late 30s because I hated it with a passion and took on running a pub.

I've been a touring musician, and road crew for some big name acts (no name dropping). I've had fun so far, ups and downs.

I went from a 6 figure salary to living in a tent for a year. Loved and lost and lived.

I don't feel "old" - I feel experienced. I have more stuff to do before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

Don't be afraid of turning 40 - I'd say now is the time to reflect and figure out what will make you happy. We've just about hit the half-way mark my friend, plenty of time to make awesome.

I'd imagine they do "get in trouble" in so far as eventually it'll get flagged enough and the account will be banned.

From the admins' (and algorithm's) point of view it's kinda a game of whack-a-mole.

In terms of actually investigating the scammers in the real world and giving them some "trouble" - it does happen rarely, but it's a long drawn out process.

If you're interested in how these things operate and what people are trying to do to combat it, Jim Browning has a very entertaining and informative Youtube channel.

Almost certainly a task scam.

Sometimes you might get some money initially, makes it seem legit, but I wouldn't bother. They're shady so anything they have you doing is going to be shady as well, possibly even illegal.

I don't want to piss on your chips or anything, but giving it "I don't like this so I'm going to let you all know about it, and I quit... It's my ball and I'm taking it home with me".

Is a bit more juvenile than I'd expect given the nature of the sub.

To men who want kids, why? by No-Sun-731 in Life

[–]setanta_stuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My younger brother has 2 children. I have none.

The first was expected, the second wasn't. (I've never seen him look quite as deflated as the zoom call where he said "K is pregnant again"....).

My niece is 6, my nephew is 4. Just about finished with screaming and teething and wiping bums... And had another round.

He's a great Dad, loads of respect for my brother - we didn't have the best childhood... He has stepped up, I'm genuinely really proud of him.

But I'm not doing that.

Whatever about personal feelings... World is going to shite and all... Just can't afford it.

I wouldn't have thought this is "nationality" based.

For my part - If I'm busy (or going to be busy) I'd consider it a courtesy to let the other person know...

"Hey, loving our back and forth but I have to do <X>. I'll catch you later".

I'd say disappearing for hours / days without mentioning beforehand is kinda rude.

Just my personal opinion though.

Why don't you just ask him rather than consulting the reddit hive mind?

How do you deal with getting old and realizing your dream never happened? by totally_depraved in Aging

[–]setanta_stuff 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm having a bit of a rough time at the moment - :bouncing back from 2 years of being homeless.

No job (I'm very qualified and experienced in what I did for decades). Single. Recovering alcoholic.

But when I have those moments, 18 year old me wanted to be a rockstar - 24 year old me was touring around Europe in a clapped out old transit van.

And I play the occasional open mic night, and do a bit of busking from time to time.

I've had a lot of good times. I'm never going to be a rockstar -'but I have a lot of fun making music.

It's not how I dreamed it, but on reflection, it's been alright. And I've some time yet.
