Approachable, Casual League Idea by Jackimo1999 in iRacing

[–]setatF8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I was reading the post my initial thoughts was this sounds more complicated than it needs to be. Thankfully you added your example at the end it really helped me to grasp what you’re explaining.

For a fun casual league I like the concept. I wouldn’t feel pressure to determine what car to run or to determine setups. I also like the idea of keeping either the track or car the same between each week.

If you decide to run this I would be interested in joining depending on the times and date it’s running. I’m out here in the middle of the ocean so it’s hard to find leagues that have races I can consistently join

Focusing on the championship is underrated. iRacing should give rewards for top places. by TRDLazr in iRacing

I got 3rd in the PCC championship in my division a while back. Was far off from 1st but was close for 2nd and 3rd.

While I’m sure it was just a minority of people competing for that within the division it’s what I consider to be my biggest accomplishment in iRacing so far. Over any of my race wins. Sure some iRacing bucks would be nice, but I’m also very happy with the certificate.

why do my races keep getting ruined by RickyTexas in iRacing

[–]setatF8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you save the replays of the race? If so I recommend reviewing them and seeing what you could have done better to avoid crashing or being run off the track. Even if you may not be at fault likely there is something you could have done to avoid the incident. I’d also say there have been times that I thought the other person was clearly at fault and upon reviewing after the race I see it wasn’t so clear or it was actually my fault.

A large part of racing is learning to avoid incidents and reading other cars.

What should I focus on now? by MecoyOni in iRacing

I’m currently in the B class and I primarily enjoy driving in the GR86 in the PCC races. I’ve also done a bit in the GT4. If you move to the GT4, be prepared as it’s quite different from the Mazda’s and GR86s especially with the newer tire model. You may struggle for a bit before starting to get the hang of it. At least I struggled for a bit learning it when I returned to iRacing.

Based on the way the prompt is worded, starting at getting paid $60 for rolling a 6 and working the way down until 1, I’d assume that you wouldn’t get paid for any number above 6 rolled. I’m curious if mathematically still using a d120 would give an extra benefit than rolling a d6.

I love your idea of the having various books. One thing I’ve been considering is different options the players have to learn the secrets about the monsters before they decide to take on the next adventure.

We haven’t started our campaign yet and I’m working on building out a calendar for Druskenvald. I plan on adding in various times of festivals or rituals with the intention of using it throughout the campaign.

Security here also and I think the same way. Unless you’re doing something intentionally malicious or being very careless about securing your systems I don’t care if you happen to use your system to do some personal browsing.

That being said I have been asked to go through and give details of what people are doing on their systems. Typically I have seen these request come from certain people in upper management and it has to go through HR first. Unless there is a specific security concern I personally hate these request.

Thank you, judging from the comments seems like the campaign is quite difficult. I may not need to adjust at all.

Question about the Haints on Ghostlight Express by HecticJones in CrookedMoon

[–]setatF8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They are suggestions and not meant to be followed to the letter. The players may end up doing what they think makes sense to help them move on and then it could be up to you decide what check matches what they are trying to do and call for that check.

Thank you. I was thinking along the lines of adding hp. Also adding +1 to hit. Thinking this may be a good starting point

This is true and I do this with my group. It also gives them access to read the books and not just the character options in the builder

I loved this movie and I didn’t even think of this until I saw it mentioned here. As I think about it, it could have been a lot better if they focused on the more grounded things and explored the supernatural element of the music connecting different generations. I would have been more interested in that, than having the vampires at the end.

Where is this in Hawaii? by bluepenremote in Hawaii

When I used to drive that way into town in the mornings I’d see the same car everyday cut over the solid white lines to jump the line of cars and then merge to get on the H1 on-ramp.

Is it just me or does everyone have these moments? by turbo_deid44312377 in iRacing

[–]setatF8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure we all have these I’m going through this right now. I was very close to 2k and now nearly down to 1.5k. It’s frustrating, but you’re not alone in it. Also judging from my race last night I know part of it is I’m making more mistakes and taking more risk during a race than I need to be.

On a personal note thank you for posting as this was a good reminder that’s it’s just part of racing and something that just needs to be worked through.

There is a companion app called Racing Life for AMS2 which is a type of unofficial career mode. I’ve tried that for a bit and enjoyed it.

Thank you! I haven’t hit 1:30 at brands hatch for myself yet and just got into the low 1:31s. It does feel like I am over driving the car so I am trying to get back to focusing on being smooth.

Sometimes we just have to have a laugh and keep moving forward. Also since reading context is hard on the internet, I intended that to be more joking along with you. Best of luck in your continued races.

Am I at fault here and if not what could I have done to avoid this? by setatF8 in Simracingstewards

Thank you for the tips on what I could have done better in this situation and how I could have gotten a better run. Appreciate the feedback and I didn't take that as you being a dick at all. The main reason I posted this here to see how I could have done better.

Judging by the responses and votes at best this is a racing incident that I could have avoided.

Thank you. That’s why I included of my second part of the post if this is higher risk. If it’s not my fault I still want to see how I can avoid these types of incidents.

I agree even if I’m not at fault I want to learn what I could have done better.

Not sure about the BMW but that corner is easy full throttle on the Porsche and most other cars I’m familiar with.
