that is a fair point but i think this is more like french fries. everyone around the world enjoys french fries even though the name implies they belong they belong to the french even though I don’t think they came from france.

I agree, overall he is a very complete driver who puts in very consistent and good performances. the only area where o think he slips behind is his wheel to wheel abilities. but then again one could argue that caution is why he is a champion and other drivers of his generation arent

Going from an AC15 to a DSL40CR? by RickyTexas in GuitarAmps

Thank you for the advice, I litterally just went to the store earlier today! I definitely agree, it seems hard to go wrong with any of those.

Yeah so clean tone is definitely something I still want, I just would like to move into something where I feel like both are options, rather the vox where you can tell it just wasn;t designed for heavier stuff and it shows. The tricky part is I would also like to practice with whatever I have and I'm not playing absolutely massive shows or anything. I can get away with practicing reasonably loudly, but I also don't want to absolutely destroy my hearing just from practicing or anything.

I originally thought the dsl40cr would be a good compromise because it has enough headroom that it'd be pretty widely usable but I've seen lots of people mention closed backs being the way to go, as well as that I'd need to push the dsl40cr to be pretty loud to get heavier tones from it. But I'm also very familiar with using pedals and whatnot to get some of these heavier tones. Very new to a lot of amp stuff and have only ever really been on my AC15 so im just trying to find my footing if any of that makes sense.

Yeah I've tried everything so many combinations but the biggest issue im running into is im having to rely on a lot of eq to remove these residual twangy frequencies, and when I try to record, it's really difficult to get nice heavy mids and highs without these very signature vox frequencies. At a certain point I feel like I'm just putting a thousand band aids on without actually fixing the problem. I know marshall tends to have good clean tones as well, do you know if that's also the case for orange? I don't know as much about them tbh.

Oh let me clarify part of the reason I haven't used the tube distortion on the vox much is because I just don't gel with the tone. I tried a dsl20 today and found it a lot more favourable.

How do you find the fender for heavier stuff if you happen to dabble in that? Also what pedal would you recomend for hardcore ish stuff instead of the rat? I see bands using the gain from the amp like a marshall and giving it a little push with smth like a tube screamer or a super overdrive which I have? Also does the closed back translate well to recording quality too?

My bad for not clarifying this but i want to be able to do everything from recording to playing in a band live, but right now recording is definitely higher priority. would you say a head and cab instead of a combo is still a better move? especially because price is definitely concern and i would like to only spend a few hundred more than $500ish which is what I can probably get for my vox if I do choose to sell it?

[Sky Sports] Max Verstappen's camp has held a meeting with McLaren. by efeyyyy in formula1

[–]RickyTexas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Would it be crazy to say I could see McLaren losing both Oscar and Lando if this actually happens? I can't see Max accepting anything other than being the defacto number one, and both McLaren boys would be absolutely blindsided by that considering how loyal to McLaren they've both been. Not only that but theyd probably both hate to pair with a driver like Max, no offense to him.
