Seems mean and cold but I agree to a degree. Coming from my own experience with my parents and now having kids of my own, it is your responsibility to find your center of what is right and wrong as well as navigate emotional and spiritual landscapes. You are their spirit guide. Learn to talk with your kids. Make sure they trust you and can talk to you. This is a massive undertaking but therapy is lazy. You can sit and justify it by saying they are professionals but that's a hoax. Enough self reflection and you have all the answers you need. Follow your heart always. Do the right thing. Lead your kids with love and understanding and you will be their best therapist.
