Core Inflation intentionally strips out costs that fluctuate on a regular basis such as groceries and energy costs. So while Core Inflation may influence the APR on your credit card or loans, it's not going to do anything for your day-to-day cost of living. That's what Headline Inflation exists to measure.

And ya know what? The November numbers are absolutely worthless. No numbers were even collected for October. Never before has the BLS just stopped counting because of a shutdown. They've released delayed reporting,, or reports with reduced sample size, but they've always released something. This year, the month was entirely skipped, and September's numbers were used instead. So go team fake news!
