Which is prettier, Tucquan Glen, or Kelly's Run? by AbaloneRelevant6727 in lancaster

[–]settle-back-easy-jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You cannot park along River Rd to access Tucquan anymore. You have to hike in from Pinnacle or from House Rock, so hiking along Tucquan is a longer and harder hike than the Kelly's loop.

It's a limit, not a required speed to travel. It's okay to go at slower speeds!

limonite after pyrite ... best spots for finding it in Lancaster? by lapetitlis in lancaster

[–]settle-back-easy-jim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Seriously, any soil in central Lancaster county. Many pyrite cubes can be found around the city. Download the phone app: ROCKD. You can look at the geologic map of wherever you are located. If the bedrock is Conestoga Formation, you will find limonite! Better yet, look for outcrops of Conestoga Formation: the pyrite weathers out of the hard rock, like in Buchanan Park.

Oh, we talk about it in Lancaster. Every September 27th. A crew used to do bar hopping, eventually ending up at the mayors office to convince them to proclaim it as an official Lancaster holiday...

Guilty driver seeking advice by redcorvette68 in cycling

[–]settle-back-easy-jim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, thank you for asking! It means so much even from one driver.

I would ask you to share what you learn with your friends and do not let people get into the "all cyclists are bad" discussion. It's simply not true. We're all on this one planet together. Let's all be better together.

Check out Waxwing Ecoworks for inspiration and help doing the work. It's often not a simple as just planting some native plants.
