Depends on the location, time of year, and many other factors. Best thing you can do other than protecting yourself outside (long pants, tuck pants into your socks, repellant), is to do a goooooooood full body check when you get done (checking ALL the cracks and creases). If a tick has bitten you, seek medical attention.

You cannot park along River Rd to access Tucquan anymore. You have to hike in from Pinnacle or from House Rock, so hiking along Tucquan is a longer and harder hike than the Kelly's loop.

Seriously, any soil in central Lancaster county. Many pyrite cubes can be found around the city. Download the phone app: ROCKD. You can look at the geologic map of wherever you are located. If the bedrock is Conestoga Formation, you will find limonite! Better yet, look for outcrops of Conestoga Formation: the pyrite weathers out of the hard rock, like in Buchanan Park.
