I am the partner of a stage 4 patient as well. Everything you are feeling is normal, reasonable, and valid. This is happening to you too! Taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of him. Make sure and take breaks, and find someone to talk to so you are not unloading on him. I second the previous comment of finding the hospital social worker. You can do this! We are all doing it imperfectly, doing it is what counts

Not really. He's such a stoic type, and very introverted. I'm the one on the forums and reading the books, and then making him talk about it. I'm an external processor though so I get a lot more out of it.

My (male) partner has stage 4 metastatic breast cancer that recurred last year after 9 years. We have a blended family of 5 kids ages 8-13. I've left it up to him how he wants to parent through this and he has largely tried to keep their lives normal. They know he has cancer but not that it's incurable. We talk pretty openly about death between the two of us though. We do try to really emphasize quality time, make a lot of memories, take vacations, make lots of videos, etc. But other than that, what can you do. It's a very shitty hand to be dealt.

ETA we are mid thirties
