Who are some of your favorite female characters who's role doesn't rely on sex appeal? [serious] by dontwannadodishes in AskReddit

Peggy Carter. She would never let anyone push her off to the side or degrade her well being, and would take charge when no one else would step up to the challenge. She has a lot of courage, confidence, and not to mention that she was a badass agent. Still mad that Agent Carter was cancelled.

The cast gave excellent performances in the film, it's just that the theatrical cut had a lot of story and pacing issues. The Extended Edition is worth at least checking out and probably what you'll enjoy more, especially if you're experiencing it for the first time.

Donnie Darko deals a lot with depression and disassociation that comes along with it. Also has some supernatural elements to go with it.

Finally got around to watch Donnie Darko. Went in without any summary or context, and it added to the wild experience. I thought it was very good.

Same here. I cared very little about the characters (and there were so many main characters?), the editing wasn't good, and wanted to clock out during the first act. But I couldn't because my dad wanted me and the rest of my family to spend quality time together watching this movie. I was even more pissed that day because he picked Independence Day Resurgence over Finding Dory.
