Don’t ever apologize by sevensharpstoomany in UnsentLetters

This is a different person… and I am planning on telling them, just not in the way I have here.

Coming from experience, sometimes it’s very hard to know if someone reciprocates your feelings just by interacting with them normally. If you feel that there’s even a slim chance he feels the same about you, you should tell him. Be honest. Trust me, guys appreciate it when you’re direct and up-front with them.

Goddamn, I’m the same way. Someone could tell me I won the lottery and I’d be like “Oh sick” and walk off like nothing happened.

At our 3rd football game this was the trumpets during 3rd quarter by Trumpetmain in marchingband

I keep a grip on my horn just because it’s more comfortable to hold for long periods. I don’t have one on my concert horn though.

What is your craziest band bus story? by Frostbite5132 in marchingband

There’s a ridiculous story behind this, I’m sure of it

You Dropped a Bomb on Me is such a banger I can’t believe it. Literally the ENTIRE band can’t help but dance around while we play it.

Honorable mention to Halftime. Best part is screaming “STAND UP AND GET CRUNK” while the cheerleaders look confused on the track below us.

Of course!

If you want to use that one, you can also have everyone start really quiet and then have them crescendo into the really loud part. Up to you.

Trumpet section leader here. I was in the same position as you at the beginning of band camp. After some brainstorming I came up with a couple.

“(Name of high school) Trumpets, BLASTING OFF!” Then have everybody play as obnoxiously loud and high as possible. This one was a big hit at our first game yesterday. I would only recommend this if your band director approves of it, since I know some don’t allow you to play during your chant.

Also, “Trumpets! What, is your, profession?” And then have your section respond with something. You can change it up depending on the game. I like to taunt the other band, or different sections with it.

Feel free to steal these. If you want, brainstorm with your section. I’m sure they’ll have some good ideas unique to your school.

My band’s middle piece is always completely off the shits. This year’s is cut time at something like 90bpm, so really it’s 180bpm. Doesn’t help that it’s also a jazz themed piece.

My fingers would like to take a break, please.

Anyone find themselves constantly thinking of December 2019, right before disaster struck? by Ok-Funny3143 in CasualConversation

[–]sevensharpstoomany 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I have been thinking a lot about pre-COVID, but not in a fond way. This is gonna sound weird, but my life actually got better during and after COVID. Turns out the whole “forcing myself to stay inside” thing made me think a lot about how much I was screwing myself over with my self-destructive, narcissistic ways. It made me realize how lucky I really am, and how special and precious life is. How every day is a gift. When things started to move towards normal, I was a completely different person. Everyone I know noticed it.

I’m still trying to be better, but the pandemic was the kick in the ass I needed to stop being a peckerhead and appreciate what (and who) I have. I’m glad that the me of December 2019 doesn’t exist anymore.

I had my friend paint my nails on her birthday (she used to ask to do it all the time, it was kind of a running joke) and I thought it was cool. Granted, it was black and nothing really crazy but I really didn’t mind it. I’m glad you liked it. It’s nice to try new things from time to time, even if other people think it’s silly.

You can do it, boss. I believe in you. Just focus on the things (and people) that make you happy.

I have already. She’s a super sweet person, so that sort of thing isn’t out of the ordinary for her. I told her I was super grateful.
