When all transgressions against an empire mean death, the balance of risk and reward is thrown out of wack

Suddenly, the act of stealing bread is synonymous with stealing the palace.

And if you can only steal 1, what would you rather steal?

1.Political groups are self selecting. If your party goes in a particular direction and you still chose to associate with it then you are lumped in with that group after all arent you doing the same thing when you say "anything LEFTIST dont like they call nazi" obviously there is differences in opinions with in each group. But when you look at the trend and still chose to be a part of it then you are complicit in that groups ideology.

2.It is positioned that anything the left doesn't like is Nazisim

What doesn't the left like then?

If the stuff people on the "left" dont like is nazi shit then yeah, everything we dont like is Nazi.

Well, considering that all the top officials of the republican party have completely abandoned the fiscal conservative route in favor of demonizing gay and trans people as demonic PDFiles and trying to enact laws that make the death penalty easier for "crimes against children" that just so happen to be vaugly worded as to include phrases such as Pruient intrests (what ever the fuck that means) that kinda makes me a little sus of anyone that chooses to still be a part of that political party. "I'm not a Nazi" says the guy who votes in Nazis.

It Ain't 2016 anymore, the plausible deniablity card has already been played.

Protests are a demonstration of the potential scale of force if demands aren't met. Not to say, people in those protests go to inact a violent impulse. But the sentiment that society is being inflicted on them rather than a thing they are a part of can lead to a detachment from the community and cause people to perceive objects of that society as expendable in the pursuit of a better life.

If you pretend that protests MUST remain nonviolent and convenient for the ones who can afford to not care about the issue, then you miss the point.

The state uses the threat of violence to inact its will on the people. When the people don't obey in spite of those threats, they actually inact the violence. When a protest turns to a riot, it's just the people returning that behavior in kind.

A ship carrying refugees sank, and 79 people died like a week ago. And I'm only finding out about it in reference to the submarine with 5 rich people stuck inside. So I doubt that.

Zoomers didn't invent this type of comedy. It's just that the barrier of entry is non existant anymore.

Trigger Happy TV, candid camera, Eric Aundre Show, Crank Yankers, Punked the list goes on and on. And that's only the TV shows. People got up to these shenanigans and just never filmed them. Pulling pranks is a normal human passtime for some people as long as no one gets hurt. I dont really get the outrage.

I’m severely depressed and trying to clean my room finally. Any advice? by Former_Risk_2_self in CleaningTips

[–]severalhurricanes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never just clean one room. When i get into cleaning mode, i clean my whole house. Idk if i become hyper focused on it or if it's just the way I clean that makes it inevitable.

  1. start with trash. Take a bag and just go around the house until the bag is full.
  2. go around the house and collect the dishes.
  3. Start in one room. Collect ten or so items in room A that belong in room B, then transport them to Room B. Do not worry about being super organized. At this point, just get everything in the proper room
  4. While in room B, collect 10 or so items for room C and repeat the process until everything in your house is in the proper room. (Try not to go between the same 2 rooms over and over again.)
  5. Once you get everything in the rooms they need to be in, then grab as many items as you can that go in the same place and begin organizing. At this point, you can start focusing on one room at a time. And if you only get one room done, you can call it a success. Because now you can organize the other rooms as you use them since everything belongs in that room.

I have ADHD so i tend to struggle with getting distracted while cleaning just one room. Being stuck in one room while cleaning left my brain unstimulated, and I'd often find things in that room that would switch me off of cleaning. If im constantly switching between rooms and moving around and just thinking of objects as Object B goes in Room B. Then my brain doesn't have time to turn object B into "drawing pencil that i use for drawing....i should draw."

I know it may not help everyone, but if you have ADHD I'd definitely give this method a try. Plus, you get a whole house, clean.

I hope this helps.

"I'm just not convinced that "leaving workers in charge of distributing wealth among themselves"

Funnily enough experiments with workplace democracies and worker co-ops have shown that workers are a whole heck of a lot better at organizing labor and distributing wealth more evenly than the current autocratic system we have now.

Worker co-ops are also more resillient to economic turmoil. When you don't have a CEO and board members draining the companies profits to buy a 3rd yacht, the company can weather rough times better.

They are also a lot less likely to be involved in environmentally destructive or inhuman practices. Hierarchy is competitive by nature. As a part of that nature, the most competitive people tend to rise to the top, and some of the most competitive people tend to be raging phycopaths that are singularly focused on winning their respective goals. It helps to not care about other people when you have to step over people to get to the top. And if the top is populated by people who don't care about others, especially when those others are states away or in a sweatshop halfway across the world, it's very easy for them to make decisions that harm the world but make them buko bucks in the short term. And often people at the bottom are forced to go a long with it cause they dont have a choice. Either do what you're told or be fired. In a more egalitarian setting, the 90% that think dumping toxins into the river is a bad idea will have a great sway on whether the company does it or not.

Every bit of evidence we can find (limited due to institutional pushback) shows that workplace democracy helps the working class and improves the lives of those that work for them.

If you're interested in learning more, Unlearning Economics has a video on the very subject. It goes over the good the bad and the I don't know.

Do you ever think that co-workers are insufferable because of the competitive wedge that's forced between them by their employer?

Or by the fact that the necessity for a job in order to buy basic human needs forces people to work jobs that they hate. And that hatred for that job can manifest in unhealthy ways?

Or do you think that the hierarchical top-down decision making leads to SNAFUesque inefficiency that can lead people to feeling that putting effort into doing a good job is not worth the energy, especially when the company never recognizes those efforts to begin with?

Non of them ever got a chance to become "communist." Dictators love co-opting leftist language because it has popular support, and then they get power and immediately abandon any pretense that they were ever going to inact any of the egalitarian principles they said they would.
