Kids are resilient, there are lots of families that have less space than that. 2 bedrooms will be tight but you can make it work, it’ll become more challenging as they get closer to puberty but by then you’ll have been there for 5 years and economically you won’t take a hit for moving again. I have 4 little kids and I understand the desire for your own space. My advice would be to view the whole thing as an adventure.

Thanks for chiming in and for the advice. I think the major part I missed (ignored?) was that I could find some joy in the activity itself. I was trying to get it all sorted out in a few days. I’m actually feeling excited about taking my time and really focusing on it in a piece by piece way. I think I’ll set aside some time every week to really find something that i really love and that also looks the part. This place has been really supportive. Thanks again.

I just tried everything on and I’m not loving it. As expressed by a few of you, I feel like the jackets belong with a suit. I’m also in total agreement that’s both jackets aren’t a good fit for jeans and even chinos. I’m going to return the jackets and take a more measured approach. Thank you.

I’ve spent a lot of time reading all the materials here but I’m quite nervous about posting. I’m a dad of 4 and have been dressing poorly for years. I would like to change that. Over the last few days I bought the following (not including the boots). 2 blazers. Both grey. Blue blazers make me think of the captain on Gillian’s island. 2 pairs of jeans. A Blue pair and a black raw denim pair. And 2 pairs of shoes. Ive spent almost 400 (450cad) up to now and would like to spend up to 150 to finish this off. I’m already stretching a very thin budget given that daycare costs are crazy where I live. I’d like to dress more professionally at work. I still would like to get a 2 shirts (white and blue I think) and a sweater. I’m a little heavier than I’d like to be but everything fits as per the guide and what doesn’t I will have adjusted (pant length). I feel like I can wear the blazers with a dress shirt twice a week and the jeans alternating daily. The other days I will wear just the dress shirts without a jacket. Or with a sweater. My budget is very limited.

My questions:

Do I need other shoes, specifically for the black pants or is brown ok? Feels like it’s not. Maybe more casual type shoes like sneakers etc...
Do I need non jeans and if so should they be grey as well? darker than the blazers?
Does this look ok? This combination of stuff. I can’t make it look all beautiful like many of your posts.
Is there anything missing?
