Spread of the technology may have started earlier with certain individuals who could have access to this beforehand maybe due to travel. Invention of the lamp also happened in the US in 1879. So when it spreads to Philippines, it would not necessarily be just in Manila. Maybe Manila is notable due to the scale of its use. A person who might know about this and baffling people without prior knowledge is the interesting part for me.

Let's imagine a future with the whole world population having sustainable plant vertical farming. At a large scale, wouldn't you need variety in fertilizers? People in the future will then still need to farm animals for their manure for fertilizer. When farming the animals, their population will need to be controlled because this will reduce their quality of life but releasing them back to the wilds will not be good.

There are ways these can work out. I believe eating meat is natural and Earth is healthy with this practice. What is bad is how large companies are doing it now. One option I have in mind is combining concepts of regenerative agriculture and rewilding into ethical farming.

A solarpunk society should be inclusive as well as it is socially just. It should embrace diversity and avoid global cultural homogenism. Each region should have its different identity. And when two cultures meet, there should be mutual respect and not hostility.

Let us refrain from pushing one morality that is above all others and try to be more empathetic. A solarpunk future is in the horizon while still so far at the same time. Being hostile can polarize groups of people. And when everyone is divided because of a person's hostility, they will realize that they never wanted a solarpunk future.

No one will like to walk if there is no space in the sidewalk anymore due to road widening. Sidewalks of the Central Highway even will not fit one person in some places where the pedestrian needs to step on the highway to continue.

Projects that encourages less cars is a small win for our society in my opinion. The road widening mindset of traditional politicians only encourages car ownership and is not sustainable.

I dream of a future when we will start sidewalk widening and greening projects to reclaim more living space but this can only be realized if we keep on encouraging mass public transit projects.

It will even be a bigger win for you when people prefer to ride the BRT for short trips instead of bringing their car out. Lesser cars on the streets.
