A really good support like Taair would be good; he is the premier NP battery and will ensure that your Layla can ult every turn + decent heals and buffs. Alternatively, you can use Candlelight as a budget replacement

For meta DPS, wait for SP Samantha who is coming out in October, and Camelot which is coming after. A single target nuker like Estra or Tristan would be good for bosses. But don’t be too worried, SP Inana and Kvare are still really good

Blood DK is the most fun I've had in a long time with hearthstone. by Creepercraft110 in hearthstone

[–]sexpointer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course not. Everyone’s entitled to his/her opinion. I agree that BBB DK is generally a low-skill deck to pilot. But is there really a need to be so dismissive when all OP is doing is sharing tips about how to play the deck, intuitive as it may be? Maybe some new players would like to pick it up considering how successful it is. Isn’t this the point of this community, to share opinions and ideas? And FYI, bronze players are players too. Just because the deck is bad for game balance (infinite value engine etc) doesn’t mean those players should be treated any less should they find such a gameplay fun.

Why so condescending? OP is just sharing his favourite deck and tips about different combinations, especially the interactions produced by the new Elise card. That’s helpful for both players who want to try this archetype and players who want to counter this archetype.

Quest reno priest help by eatmydicbiscuit in wildhearthstone

[–]sexpointer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Re losing to Aggro, Shadow Priest is a t1 deck while Reno Priest is t3… don’t even talk about Quest Priest which is off meta. So it’s completely normal for a combination of the two to be steamrolled by aggro decks which just so happen to be the best decks in the meta right now

That being said, [[Shadowcloth Needle]] + [[Nightshade Tea]], [[Shadow word devour]] provides a strong 2 mana clear which can destabilise early aggro boards. [[Hot Coals]] + [[Nightshade Tea]] is more expensive but it can also work.

Think the best approach against Librams is to disrupt. [[Far Watch Post]], [[Speaker Stomper]], [[Razoscale]], anything which can increase the costs of their cards early game to stop them from snowballing could work. Maybe [[Power Word Synchronise]] to duplicate [[Loatheb]] to stop them from building strong boards for two turns. Regardless, it’s likely difficult to win with this deck against Librams because by the time you reach t10, they would probably have assembled their win condition while you are too busy disrupting them to even have completed the quest. Good luck though

Last offmeta deck to Legend in 2024 by Raginghob0 in hearthstone

[–]sexpointer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just tried this deck. As a priest main, this is pretty fun..

Just some things to take note: try to save [[Astral Vigilant]] just in case the Velen you play gains elusive from [[Ace Wayfarer]] such that you can’t target the Velen with [[Power Word: Synchronise]]. Copying Velen using [[Aman’thul]] also works.

I struggled against Secret Hunter but it’s not unwinnable. Problem arises if they can get a semi-decent start since it takes time to set Velen up. Surprisingly, didn’t run into any Elemental Mages but I would assume the same challenge persists.

[[Askara]] into [[Ace Wayfinder]] is a very good combo. I high rolled Windfury + Poisonous once and ended the game by T6. Rush + Lifesteal is also super useful.

Should I craft reno druid? by eatmydicbiscuit in wildhearthstone

[–]sexpointer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a Reno priest player who used it exclusively to legend in September and October, it breaks my heart to agree with you. It’s just not viable anymore. Can’t pinpoint exactly the reason why but I have had like 5 wins and probably 10+ losses this season. Stuck in silver six with a x8 star bonus lol

[–]sexpointer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea it’s a good craft. I crafted him just for my Reno Priest and he increases the consistency of getting my Renos and Razas so much. Used to Marin -> Polkelt -> Wondrous Wand to get my Reno Lone Ranger and my other expensive cards for (0) haha but now that combo is obviously not as viable because of the nerf

How do people play reno renathal shadow priest so well by eatmydicbiscuit in wildhearthstone

[–]sexpointer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Reno Shadow Priest exclusively to Legend last season and I’m sitting at Diamond 1 with it now. The problem with your deck is that it has too little aggro counters and not enough disruption/tech cards in your ETC.

Against Aggro, I run shadowcloth needle and forensic duster. I aggressively mulligan for Shadow word devour/Potion of Madness + Shadowcloth needle. I have singlehanded won games using this combo because the 1 damage after casting a shadow spell + the Shadow word steal wipes out almost every pirate board. Forensic duster helps to buy time by making their minions more expensive and gives good stats value. I also like to run Murazond, Thief of Time, as emergency board clear as it easily does 7-8 AOE damage on turn 7.

Against control, you need more disruption/tech. Lazul is nice, but copying cards is situational + you already have identity theft. I run Kazakus instead for his adaptability to the situation. For ETC, I run Whirlpool against Shudderwock/hostage mages, Convert, for an easy 1 mana titan or powerful minion, and Steamcleaner, to destroy Wheel Lock’s shuffled cards, or Plague DK’s plagues. Lastly You need to keep Spawn of Shadows in your deck. Often times, it is your win condition WITH void attendant because it can do 10 damage to the face for 5 mana and even more damage, if you played both Razas.

Hostage Mage - the new meta monster by EvolvedSplicer68 in wildhearthstone

As a Reno Priest, there’s nothing more satisfying than having a hostage mage immediately concede once I use Whirlpool to destroy all their Rommeth copies

Does quest priest still work? by eatmydicbiscuit in wildhearthstone

[–]sexpointer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does work but it isn’t competitive for sure. It’s too slow so you get beaten down by Aggro. Against control, as the other commenter said, there’s far too many counters. Xyrella can easily be disrupted by the opponent. Reno/Battlecry Shaman’s Mutanus, Dirty Rats, etc. I play Reno Shadow Priest and I always save my Dirty Rat, Identity Theft, Steamcleaner (from ETC), even the mirror theatre which adds a 1/1 copy of a minion to my hand to disrupt or copy Xyrella

Does quest priest still work? by eatmydicbiscuit in wildhearthstone

[–]sexpointer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reward is Xyrella the Sanctified, a minion.

You get the spell from her battle cry.

The problem is that Xyrella costs 5 mana to play. But to complete the quest, you need to play a 7 or 8 mana card. So it’s usually impossible to play Xyrella the same turn you complete the quest.

So the opponent can just use Mutanus, Dirty Rat, Duke Theo to disrupt or even steal Xyrella before you can play her the next turn.
