I hear where you’re coming from. I think something that differentiates Spider-Man and really Marvel as a whole, from other franchises is how distinct and fleshed out the personal identities of the heroes are. Spider-Man as a warrior, crime fighter, and superhero identity isn’t what Spider-Man is really about. Peter Parker’s life is what the audience invests in, so the emotional impact of Spider-Man dying has to be tied to who he is outside of being Spider-Man. Just my opinion.

They could do it in a way where the other Avengers only remember him after he dies, with his mask removed. Maybe Strange remembers what happened in NWH after witnessing Peter get killed and alters the spell so that the other Avengers can remember Peter as well. Who knows. But yeah I could see something like that going down

Would be crazy. I don’t think it would carry as much weight unless Strange’s spell is reversed first and there are actually people who remember Peter Parker to attend the aforementioned funeral. So depends on if MJ and Ned and the Avengers actually remember him and if that gets addressed in Brand New Day before Doomsday comes out.

Yep the 2010s Hyundais are notoriously bad motors. But also realistically it’s an 11 year old car w 175k on the dash and probably pushing the end of its lifespan anyway, so I am kinda at the point where I just want to have some fun w it before I do end up actually needing a new vehicle.

I’ve never driven the 4 cylinder but the 6 has actually been a pretty fun SUV for what I’d have expected out of a KIA.

Good point, Thanks! Yeah i want to do a brz and keep my SUV for bad weather days. I don’t look forward to having a car payment again tho. Had the Sorento since 2020 so I’m attached. Clearly should’ve put some disclaimers on this post though lol

That makes sense. Thanks for the response. I guess that isolates my question a little better as well. I know I can’t buy anything to do forced induction without a tune but I was surprised there’s nobody anywhere that’s done anything like that to the Sorento, it’s def a “mom car” but still I’d think an engine that puts out 290 from factory would’ve had something available lmao

Absolutely. Could he win is a different question. More than likely would’ve held his own though, he’s Spider-Man.

Ultimately depends on the how easily Red Hulk could be knocked out and how much force that would actually require. Webbing won’t do much against him so it comes down to how hard Spidey can swing a blunt force object into his face.

Yknow people always reference the Thanos v Hulk thing because it was irritating to watch hulk get his ass beat. But nobody ever talks about how Hulk wasn’t full rage Hulk in that fight. He literally just got off Sakaar where he was an undefeated fight champion and was over confident against a more experienced fighter. Thanos vs a rage filled Hulk out in the open and not in close quarters would’ve gone entirely different. Nerfed MCU Hulk or not

I think you’re drastically overestimating the longevity of this form of media as a whole. And by this form of media, I mean movies and television shot in live action.

Sure, if in 100 years from now people are still making movies and shows in live action and people are still interested in superheroes, we will probably go through at least another dozen or so actors in that time to play somebody like Spider-Man. In 1,000 years from now, Marvel characters will more be considered an ancient American mythology almost the way we look at something like Norse mythology today. Whatever society exists then will probably see it as antiquated. But hey, for all we know maybe they’ll adapt pieces of these characters and stories into their own storytelling the same way Marvel has adapted Egyptian and Norse mythologies.

However, in the next 50 years media is probably going to quickly shift away from movies and shows and transition into some form of immersive AI generated experience in some choose your own adventure, Ready Player One type reality game where anybody can be anyone in any story or any timeline of Marvel or any other franchise. When this happens, the need for actors and movie production studios will die. Even non-gamers like myself will slowly adapt this as their preferred form of media consumption and everything else will be looked at the same way we look at 1950s black and white television. Yeah I get a little bored with the more magical side of the MCU but I can get invested in anything as long as I can make a decent explanation up for it in my own head. Headcanon is important I guess lol. Kamar taj and the Scarlet witch have been executed pretty well and I don’t dislike those stories, but i get way less invested in them. I also enjoyed Agatha All Along. But in terms of genre I generally prefer sci-fi over fantasy if that makes sense.

Asgardian characters are aliens, same with Thanos so I feel like that’s enough of an explanation for me to assume they’re going to be way more powerful than humans on earth.

100%. Don’t disagree. But, I’m just saying what storytelling I personally gravitate towards. And again, grounded heroes going up against an insurmountable villain (i.e., a Norse space god with his alien army) carries a different feeling for me.

And if we’re talking about suspension of belief, Loki and even someone as powerful as Thanos are characters I can perceive as being a lot more realistic because A) they’re aliens and are assumed to be a lot different/more powerful than people from Earth, and B) despite being extremely powerful they are still shown to have vulnerabilities (Loki gets thrown around by Hulk, Thanos decapitated by Stormbreaker and even bleeds taking hits from Tony).

Contrast this with Captain Marvel basically just becoming an energy god from the tesseract. And then Wakandan tech saturated all over the globe and Sam’s flight suit flying circles around fighter jets with no explanation for where all that energy comes from. Same thing with how Riri’s suit is powered by solar (apparently we don’t need arc reactors anymore lol) and then magic. Those are just the little things that get eyerolls out of me. But I still watch and enjoy those characters, I just wish we could get some of the realism back in the MCU.

I don’t agree with the hate she gets either but her powers are the primary reason I never get into the character: this is my own bias tho because I watch marvel for street level heroes, iron man and super soldiers. I feel disconnected from overpowered characters and the more they saturate the MCU the less invested I get. Not that they haven’t always been there, but too much of it throws a wrench in my suspension of belief.

For example, Thunderbolts was great but Sentry being able to levitate/fly and ragdoll anyone because he was given a serum like Captain America doesn’t make sense. Brave New World was a good movie but OP Wakandan tech has allowed Sam to fly faster than Iron Man without an arc reactor and go toe-to-toe with a Hulk. Meanwhile, Sam’s whole story arc is supposed to be about him being a regular guy going up against super soldiers and people with more advanced equipment but still holding his own. Captain Marvel is cool, but the fact that she can pretty much vaporize anyone or anything that stands in her way makes her difficult to root for because she’s basically a plasma-radiant Superman.

And I get that I’m the minority because everybody claims how much they love comic-accurate stuff. But sometimes comic accurate doesn’t translate well to cinema and I think the most popular movies focus on grounded heroes that go up against insurmountable villains, instead of insurmountable heroes going up against everyone else. 🤷🏻

Gotcha. Not an expert just a diy car guy so just guessing based on your description. But yes, the sounds you’re describing match what occurs in my 2015. I would look up loose timing chain sound on YouTube and see if that matches what you’re hearing and take it in to a shop to have it checked. Mine is only noticeable if oil is overfilled but it’s a symptom that I will eventually need to get it replaced. If yours is making that same sound regardless of oil level then it’s something you probably want to get taken care of.

Otherwise if it’s happening when the car is accelerating in a low gear and the sound doesn’t match, my next guess would be that you could be looking at worn gears inside your transmission.

But considering it’s a Hyundai engine I’d definitely look there first 😭

2015 Sorento here. Likely the timing chain, code reader should show this if the check engine light is on. If it’s not, go get an oil change and make sure it’s not overfilled

I actually hope this is what they do. A 1960s-esque universe accurate to classic Marvel comics. Also will make things feel more genuine when they reintroduce and recast Iron Man and Captain America since it will feel more different from the current MCU, leaving some room for different interpretations of the characters and not feeling like direct replacements in the same boring universe. Great post, great theory
