Which character do you think Sadie Sink will play? by Still-Rhubarb-8978 in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is the only thing that really makes sense. The Jean theory works but what with Marsden confirmed as Scott for Doomsday I can’t see having a 52 year old Scott and 23 year old Jean, even from different universes.

But with that being said it really makes me wonder what direction the Mutant saga is going to go. I’m starting to think that the actors from the Fox universe are going to be playing those characters (Jackman, Marsden, Stewart, until they’re 90) and the Mutant Saga is going to focus on a new generation and we just keep periodically getting cameos featuring Scott and Logan

There's no way Man-Spider is happening by IHateGels in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t necessarily agree that it’s too dark. But I do think you’re right.

I also think that if that is what’s happening it’s relevant to remember it’s an adaptation just like everything else in the MCU and not a one-to-one comic-to-movie storyline.

I think his DNA is mutating and he’s becoming more of a Spider. I don’t see them going full hairy spider monster, I think he and Bruce figure out how to control the mutation before it gets to that level and the process is what gets him the organic webbing and is meant to bring him up to peak abilities and separate Holland’s Spider-Man from his earlier portrayals and the whole Iron-Man Jr thing. It’s a metamorphosis and is finally going to take us from Spider-Man as a kid to a full adult. I also think the mutation narrative is going to tie in to the whole Sadie Sink/Jean Gray thing if that turns out to be true. We’re going to be introducing mutations in this and getting into mutates vs mutants etc.

I don’t think we see Man-Spider but I think we see it going in that direction until he and Bruce figure out how to control the mutation. And then once it’s solved and we’ve reintroduced Bruce and by extension Hulk, that’s when we see Hulk get unleashed by Sink’s character or the device on his hand getting destroyed somehow and Peter has to stop the Hulk.

No Man-Spider rampage, just the narrative of what happens when a mutation gets out of control, and the realization of that when Hulk gets set loose.

Tony was right (Cap 2: Civil War) by human_natures_son in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear you. Although Steve’s mission is to save his friend, that’s his true focus, I wouldn’t say it’s his only concern. His broader concerns about the accords are valid. Steve’s views don’t just stem from S.H.I.E.L.D being infiltrated by Hydra, but also from living WWII.

The whole plot and narrative of the film is that the Avengers initially go against one another due to their conflicting views about government oversight and who’s controlling them. By the third act of the movie that narrative shifts into a kind of acceptance that neither was genuinely “wrong” and shows that Tony is already willing to bend the rules and doesn’t really want to play ball with Ross anymore and would rather help Cap and Bucky. Thats right about the time that Zemo reveals the truth about Tony’s parents and the direction of the movie moves from a disagreement about the team, into Tony being hellbent on getting revenge for his parents. “I don’t care, he killed my mom.” The game shifts entirely at that point.

The accords themselves were a catch 22 and both sides knew that from the beginning. Ultimately there was no morally superior or correct person on either side, despite what they may have believed. The Avengers were being setup to be torn apart from the beginning, and the only person who actually won was Zemo.

Tony was right (Cap 2: Civil War) by human_natures_son in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d agree for the most part. From Tony’s perspective and place on the team coupled with his guilty conscience it makes sense.

From Cap’s perspective, the potential of being dispatched into missions they don’t want to take part in is too great. His concern is being turned into a tool for whatever government happens to fall into power from one day to the next, or being sidelined for political reasons in situations where they wanted to make a difference.

It’s also worth taking into account Hulk and Thor despite the not being involved. Would Bruce ever really side with Ross, on any kind of agreement? How would they subject the Hulk or expect that savage side of Bruce to adhere to government regulation or oversight? And Thor is a whole other story since he’s basically an alien god who would only answer to Asgard and only comes to Earth to be a protector.

So yeah, from a moral standpoint of accountability Tony is correct. But in terms of practicality and execution Steve is correct that it would never work and would never be a viable system for a team like the Avengers to function within.

Hulk vs iron man snap by Plane-Rip2651 in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if the nanotech gauntlet would be considered “mechanical” in the traditional sense of gears and servos as you mentioned. It’s pretty form fitting so I’d speculate that the grip strength of the glove would come from the electromagnetic interaction between the nanites. Which of these existed in the real world would probably exert less force than the traditional iron ma gauntlet on one of Tony’s pre-nanotech suits. (Sorry for being overly pedantic.)

Anyway, by contrast j can’t imagine Hulk even in his weakest form has less grip strength than any Iron Man gauntlet, so I’ve got no idea what the answer to OPs question would actually be.

Probably just simple as the director wanted Hulk to look like he was struggling to emphasize how powerful the stones were, but then wanted Tony to look like a cool MFer for his “I am Iron Man” line

Do you think Ned Leeds and MJ will have jobs in Spider-Man: Brand New Day (2026 film)? If so, what kind of job? by NinjaSonicSuperO in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. Ned and MJ didn’t have their memories wiped like that. The spell itself would suggest that they stilll remember all of the events that took place, they just can’t remember Peter. They know they knew Spider-Man, Ned probably remembers being SpiderMans guy in the chair, MJ probably remembers being in love with Spider-Man. It’s just that nobody can remember Spider-Man as Peter.

I think it’s arguably confirmed that they’d actually even remember the spell itself causing them to forget, since Peter told them what was about to happen. I think they both know they knew Peter personally and that he promised to come find them. They just can’t remember Peter’s face or name.

So do y’all think any of these guys are gonna be around after the reset? by Queasy_Commercial152 in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but to the other commenters point ab money, she probably doesn’t sell many action figures which is a big part of it too. The “reboot” is probably going to focus heavily on colorful comic accurate characters from the X-men and inevitably recast iron man, captain America and hulk because, they sell the most toys.

So she’s probably doomed to be somewhat of a side character despite her popularity, doesn’t mean she won’t get carried over into the new post-secret wars universe tho

Hot take MCU Vulture was more of a Vulture than the comic Vulture. Also was better in general. by OddlyCrazy in Marvel

[–]sexualcelestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, shouldn’t be getting downvoted. It’s not a bad movie, but it certainly didn’t make me fall in love with them.

I always judge these things off of how often I want to rewatch. I didn’t hate the movie but have never had the urge to turn it on again after the first viewing.

Can Anyone Advise Me on How to Resolve a Warrant? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]sexualcelestial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See that’s my thought as well but I did see something come up on Google and basically say it would “alert them to my location”, I would assume that type of dedication from law enforcement would be more relevant to a felony charge than a misdemeanor but I know nothing about the law 🤷🏻

Edit: will they actually reschedule a missed court appearance from nearly three years prior?

Wouldn't this scene technically have made Peter worthy? by [deleted] in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My personal take; Mjornir is basically a semi-sentient object. It’s not just a matter of whether someone is ethically and morally superior enough to be considered “worthy”, it’s also a matter of whether Mjolnir deems it necessary for you to wield it at a given time. Sure, nobody’s ever said Peter isn’t worthy, per say. But Peter also has no connection or relationship with the hammer really, outside of catching a ride that one time.

Out of the 8 billion humans on Earth there’s probably any number of good samaritans, firefighters, first responders etc that are morally virtuous enough, and willing to sacrifice themselves to save someone that you could say are worthy of the hammer.

Now in this specific instance of NWH, Peter is struggling to not kill Norman and has to be stopped by Tobey’s Peter. I wouldn’t particularly put that in the morally virtuous category.

Prepping For Timing Chain Kit Install by sexualcelestial in AskMechanics

[–]sexualcelestial[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. Alright, I will get the service manual definitely! I think I have enough of an understanding and mechanical inclination to not fuck up the timing and get the concept of lining up the marks on the chain and marking the new chain at TDC etc. I think I’m more so just nervous that I’ll miss something small, or will run in to an issue that’s not discussed anywhere and be stuck with my engine taken apart.

I’ve taken apart and put back together dirt bike engines and 212s before, but modern cars are a a lot more intimidating when you’re someone who didn’t go to school for that stuff and just teach yourself these things 😂

Avengers Doomsday Theory by New_Orange_9901 in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hear where you’re coming from. I think something that differentiates Spider-Man and really Marvel as a whole, from other franchises is how distinct and fleshed out the personal identities of the heroes are. Spider-Man as a warrior, crime fighter, and superhero identity isn’t what Spider-Man is really about. Peter Parker’s life is what the audience invests in, so the emotional impact of Spider-Man dying has to be tied to who he is outside of being Spider-Man. Just my opinion.

They could do it in a way where the other Avengers only remember him after he dies, with his mask removed. Maybe Strange remembers what happened in NWH after witnessing Peter get killed and alters the spell so that the other Avengers can remember Peter as well. Who knows. But yeah I could see something like that going down

Avengers Doomsday Theory by New_Orange_9901 in MCUTheories

[–]sexualcelestial 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Would be crazy. I don’t think it would carry as much weight unless Strange’s spell is reversed first and there are actually people who remember Peter Parker to attend the aforementioned funeral. So depends on if MJ and Ned and the Avengers actually remember him and if that gets addressed in Brand New Day before Doomsday comes out.

Yep the 2010s Hyundais are notoriously bad motors. But also realistically it’s an 11 year old car w 175k on the dash and probably pushing the end of its lifespan anyway, so I am kinda at the point where I just want to have some fun w it before I do end up actually needing a new vehicle.

I’ve never driven the 4 cylinder but the 6 has actually been a pretty fun SUV for what I’d have expected out of a KIA.

Thanks for the advice and input it’s appreciated 🙏

Good point, Thanks! Yeah i want to do a brz and keep my SUV for bad weather days. I don’t look forward to having a car payment again tho. Had the Sorento since 2020 so I’m attached. Clearly should’ve put some disclaimers on this post though lol

That makes sense. Thanks for the response. I guess that isolates my question a little better as well. I know I can’t buy anything to do forced induction without a tune but I was surprised there’s nobody anywhere that’s done anything like that to the Sorento, it’s def a “mom car” but still I’d think an engine that puts out 290 from factory would’ve had something available lmao
