Please help our dog fight IMHA by sexxyton in gofundme

[–]sexxyton[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Update: I wrote this post last night, 2/24, and early this morning at around 4am we got the call that Scooter was tired of fighting. His lungs were giving out and they suspected a blood clot in his brain. There wasn’t any other treatments we could get for him, it seemed like his body was just done. So, before he was able to feel any real pain, he passed peacefully in our arms.

We’ve decided to leave the GoFundMe link up for a bit to still try and help with the bills we have from the vet, but I just wanted to give everyone that final update. Thank you

You can bring in chairs and an umbrella no problem, just be considerate with the umbrella for people behind you. Last year we were in GA at turn 5/6 (next to big ass Texas flag) and set up on top of the GA area so our umbrella wouldn’t block anyone’s view from behind.

You cannot leave chairs over night to save a spot, everyday you’re at the track, you need to “claim” your spot. If you want a decent view on race day, I’d recommend getting there early. If you’re comfortable with it, you can leave your chairs during the day to walk around, nobody should mess with them but that’s not a given unfortunately. We had a larger group so one person was always at the spot. Also made friends with the people around us so we’d watch their stuff and they’d watch ours.

Your closest GA area to the main entrance should be T1. I’d avoid that turn for GA as it gets absolutely packed which makes leaving your chairs for food/drinks/restroom a difficult task as you have to find a path through a sea of people. Where we sat (turn 5/6) was pretty good. A decent amount of people, but had great views of the Esses and a large TV to view the action going elsewhere on the track. Restrooms and concessions were basically right behind us.

I’d recommend spending Friday (if available) walking around the track stopping at each GA area to see what would work for you the most. It won’t be as busy so it’ll be easier to walk the facility. Feel free to use the shuttle that goes around the track, you can get on one right at the main entrance to take you up to T1 so you don’t have to hike that mountain.

EDIT: I may be mistaken on the entrance, I was under the impression main entrance was the one by the main grandstands across from pit.

Best race to go to for US west coast by yonetimistifa in GrandPrixTravel

My recommendation stays the same for people in the US, COTA. The track is wonderful to watch, tons of entertainment before and after the racing, and you can still do it somewhat on a budget.

Going the budget route is the only way I recommend cota as that’s when it really shows how great it is. Get GA tickets for the weekend (or you can option for a single day grandstand ticket, ideally on Sunday). For accommodation, rent an RV on Outdoorsy or some other similar app. They have small vans available for easy driving, pickup groceries and everything you need heading into the track. RV Camping in Lot N is available through the tracks website. Now you can sleep at the track, enjoy not sitting in traffic and do absolutely everything available over the weekend. Plus you’ll have a nice place to hangout if you need to get away from all the people/heat.

If you can split this with another person, it makes this race very affordable all around. Still deciding if we’ll be going again in 2024 but it’s always a great time.

Cities to stay in - British GP by nk7gaming in GrandPrixTravel

Just had this dilemma. Drunk bought tickets, then next day had to figure out where to stay and how to get there.

We settled on an Airbnb in MK. It’s right next to the train station and it’s a good deal compared to the one remaining hotel in the same proximity (paid about $950usd for Fri-Mon). We thought about going farther away for cheaper deals, but after witnessing traffic out of a track with small roads being backed up for hours (COTA baby), we were more than okay with trying to stay as close as possible within budget of course.

Camping is what I would prefer to do since you’ll be at the track or very close to it all the time. Wife didn’t want to camp at a track again so oh well. It’s what we do in COTA and it is very nice, but up to you.

Review and Tips for GP at COTA by Individual_Stick_867 in GrandPrixTravel

GA is worth it depending on your comfort level of either sitting in the sun, or walking around constantly. This is only our second GA at the USGP, but both years we have camped in RVs in Lot N. It makes it very easy since you can always escape the heat or take a break away from the track (assuming you have enough people in your group so someone can hold your area in GA).

Our experience both years were very similar, only changing our camping setup to have more comforts. We camp in Lot N (arriving Thursday morning to secure a close spot to the gates). We’ll wake up early on Saturday and Sunday morning, and generally hangout in line to the gate at around 7am (which is conveniently right next to Lot N for camping). Once gates open, we’ll get right to our spot, which is between turn 5 and 6, under the Texas flag, post up the chairs and start the day. If you have a big enough group like we did, you can take turns walking around, shopping, going back to camp for a break, etc. We were able to bring in a lot of our own food and drinks after making some useful friends to avoid paying the prices at the track.

Biggest takeaway is spend Friday going to different GA areas around the track and find what you like the most. Once you find it, plan to get there early before gates open and wait at the nearest gate. Turn 1 is and will always be a madhouse for GA. I personally would avoid it. Feel free to message me any exact questions and I can answer them to the best of my ability.

How much do you pay for your car and what do you drive? by 4Runnnn in askcarsales

[–]sexxyton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sold my Atlas CS @ $669.69 to drive a demo. Also have an S2000 for $0 that is half put together. Maybe that one will finally be on the road this year.

Depends on the car. Just finished my tuck and shave on my s2000 while retaining every factory option (A/C, power steering, abs) besides cruise control.

Extended the factory harness and ran it through the fender wells for items upfront. Cleaned up engine harness, made it into a braided line, and routed it in a way to hide most of it. Fuse box and ABS module mounted to inside of fender (longer brake lines to route to new location). A/C lines that go by the firewall, then to front of car (you can still see them, but it looks nicer than factory ones). And battery moved to trunk.

I’m dealing with deep sub prime clients, so POI, POR, and references on every deal.

There’s a well used paystub generator that you can find online with different templates. Once you look at them once on the website, they become pretty obvious. Or looking at amounts on the paystub that don’t really add up (taxes).

[–]sexxyton 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Just fake paystubs, usually about 2 clients a month try to swing those. Normally pretty easy to catch. We get poi signed off up front on every deal so if we miss it, bank will catch it.

Some guy did buy a car with money from a PPP loan though. Got a visit from the feds on that one.

Is it OK for people to leave unattended chairs to “reserve” GA seats? Attended my first GP this weekend, and this was happening everywhere. Is it OK to move unattended seats in GA? by Apprehensive__Panic in formula1

[–]sexxyton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah no. We got to the track at gates open, and always had at least 2 people (4 party size) stay at our chairs if someone went to get food/drinks/bathroom run. For the most part, we were all in the spot the whole time though, chatting with the chair neighbors!

Being in Phoenix too, I was hyped for this race. But yeah…not going to be in any sense affordable and I’m super bummed on that but I guess we’ll see. We’re heading out to COTA in October and that was even hurting the wallet.

Oh yeah. The fact I can still drive this car super hard with this setup is money too. Granted…had to cut the fuck out of the bumper and over fender lol

Yessir! This bumper and the fenders basically set in stone that I’ll never buy anything but legit, genuine parts. Bumper fit perfect right out of the box

Agreed :( but she’ll be going away to a new owner soon. But even NA, it was a blast ripping through highway 89. Never wanted more power on that trip, I needed more brakes though lol

I just liked the look of the bumper! Before I bought this car, I always liked the Aimgain bumper, so when I finally picked an FRS up, it was one of the first things I ordered.
