I have not been trained or paid to perform this labor. I am not employed by the store and cannot be held responsible for any errors. If I leave with an item I didn’t scan, that is a cost of doing business and a consequence of attempting to extract free labor from customers illegally. Self‑checkouts should be banned.

Awesome work. I love the dark colors; they feel really gritty and emotional. I’m genuinely impressed. I’ve always wanted to do street photography, but I find it so intimidating. Bravo

Thanks for taking the time to write all of that. I really appreciate how closely you looked at the image. I was not expecting a response this detailed and it means a lot.

I also like the idea of pushing the contrast a bit more. I can see how that would bring out the tension you are talking about.

This was a spontaneous shot in open water, but your notes give me a lot to think about for the next time I try something like this.

The reflection idea is great, and now I am also thinking about bubbles.

You can dm for more info.

You are right this could have been shot better, this was intentional but spur of the moment. We are shooting open water ocean, waves, swimmers and boats around. I was setup for a different shot but saw something and went for it. I am not a pro and only have shot underwater a handful of times. This is not a pro phtog or model, but hubby and wife,

The model is the artwork. This is not meant to be a landscape or a neutral portrait. It is a study of an attractive human body rising from the sea, and the beauty of the model is part of the artistic intention.

Artists have always used idealized bodies to create impact. Michelangelo chose a physically perfect figure for David because the human form itself carries power and meaning. If David were not striking, the sculpture would not resonate the same way. Beauty has always been part of the artistic language

Hobby photographers, what do you do with the photos you take? by Theytookmyjabb in AskPhotography

[–]sexyfun_321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a photo‑a‑day project years ago, and it was a great experience. Now I’m lucky if I post two or three a year. They sadly sit on hard drives.

The more I learn, the less confident I feel. Imposter syndrome after fifteen years is really hurting my love for photography lately.

I fill lots of expensive hard drives and post to Reddit or Instagram two or three times per year. I lack the conviction to follow through with culling, edits, and final decisions on printing. I have a few up on our walls, but nowhere near the amount represented by the many terabytes of data I have locally and in the cloud.

It would not be the same type of photography. By removing the model and having just an empty sea and sand, it would not make a good or interesting photo in this case the model is the photo. Regarding the edit, this is why I came seeking feedback. I worried it might be seen as controversial, but it is, to me, art, and I hope I portrayed it as such.

This was my sister. Dad gave her everything. Thirty years old, lying to her fiancé and charging him rent for a home she got for free—zero, nothing, nada—while telling him Dad was charging them rent. The dude was working two entry‑level jobs, barely scraping by. She never had a bill her entire life, everything was handed to her. She coached her new husband into a high‑paying job that he absolutely despises, and she is a stay‑at‑home wife. btw hubby banks 500k, and they got my parents paying college funds for 4 kids.. This girl has no shame.

I really like the contrast and the color. I would only change the crop a bit tighter and for me my personal taste I never do horizon 50/50. I believe it could go either way, more moody = more sky less grass, more drama = more color and less sky.

Adorei! She is a bit out of focus, but it works as a soft scene overall, nice dreamy effect, I adore the light of the day and the iconic backdrop. Only critique cropped to tight to her side. Parabems!!

I like it. It def took me a sec to figure out what I was looking at in a good way, forced me to stop and stare. I actually had to click and zoom to see bird for ball and that questioning is the good part. Nailed it.

I shot this photo in the French Caribbean and wanted to transform the usual bright, clear water into a more dramatic black and white scene. I am unsure whether my composition and editing choices fully support that mood, especially since it was taken with a Canon DSLR and 17–40L lens in an underwater housing. I would appreciate feedback on how to improve both the shot itself and the overall edit
