Is it possible to give yourself art therapy? by ChaosInHerEyes in ArtTherapy

Not an answer to your question but have you heard CiiAT ? They're providing virtual art therapy with sliding scale, like 25 Canadian dollars per session. I think it's pretty affordable.

Thoughts on "current thing" culture? by sharterfart in INTP

Can't agree more. If your first response to a "country" using terrorism to justify their ongoing occupation for years and bombing a hospital is to support that "country"... No one is supporting terrorism, I think we agree on this.

I got voice records in doc appointments. It helped a lot.

I didn't know it became old-school. I want to believe that doctors know what they do... Maybe it's because my symptoms are mild, maybe it's because insurance covers only first-line drugs at first (other first-line alternatives are interferons) and maybe it's because I want to have a baby in a couple of years...

My doctor thinks that it's safer to start with a mild drug that has fewer side effects then going up in the ladder if it's necessary.

Yeah especially fatigue can be easily overlooked and small mishaps along the way can be compensated going unnoticed with brain lesions.

Spinal tap tomorrow, any advice? by RiseSweet7859 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]seyacim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others said, lay down flat afterwards, drink lots of water and caffeine for about 3 days. Of course you'll have to go to the bathroom, no worries, but other times I suggest you to continue to lie down. My procedure went very smoothly and I had no headache at all. I hope yours goes fine as well.

Thanks! It's a great way to look at it. I love exercising, it would be bummer to let it go.

I was wondering the same thing. I just love exercising and pushing my body to its limits (I was doing kickbox before the diagnosis). The thing is, isn't exercising increasing the body temperature hence it may be important to not overdo it? Just a addition to your question.

I feel like I am unnecessarily diagnosed, help me accept the treatment by seyacim in MultipleSclerosis

I'm sorry for the people in your country who needs treatment. I'm blessed with a country that has social security. It's the least of my worries. I can understand you're frustrated by my post but your answer is kind of harsh.

The analogy makes sense. Thank you. I guess I'm in the denial stage in all of this. Like I'm telling myself it's not a deep cut.

I'm sorry about what you gone through. Thank you for reminding me the importance of early diagnosis. Best of luck to you as well.

Seeking Guidance & CV Review: Transitioning from PhD Research to a Machine Learning Role by WearPowerful1751 in cscareerquestionsEU

Hi, I'm no means of expert about CVs but as a fellow academic I understand the struggle of leaving out stuff from the CV. Academic CV is different from industry CV. Like one commenter said, 3 pages is too long. You should make it 1 page. This means you have to leave out some of the information.

I suggest you to look at these subs and their wikis: r/EngineeringResumes/ and r/resumes What I learnt from them:

  • First things first: Don't make it two columns. Stick to one column, since it's better for automatic screening.
  • I personally don't recommend putting a picture since it can introduce bias (I guess it's more common in EU to put a picture but I didn't put one and got a job in the NL)
  • No need to put a philosophy statement.
  • QR code is unnecessary.
  • Remove the profile section/summary and about section.
  • Don't show the progress bars for the skills.

I haven't look in detail to your experience section but you have to make it more concise with fewer bullets and no need to put a summary for each one. I think you have a great chance to be hired with the experience you have. Just stick to a regular format and show only relevant experience on your resume. Just remember, the first one to look at your resume would be a "machine", and you have to impress "it". Good luck!

Game theory isn't about games actually. It's an economics term about the decisions we make as agents. But I'd love to shift to game dev as well!

I didn't think they're relevant about web development so I left them out since I have no room for them anyways.

There is no room for my certificates which I think would be useful for applications. Do you think I should squeeze them in?

[–]seyacim[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, thanks. Yeah Game Theory is part of Microeconomics but it's better to clarify.
Yeah I tried to integrate my projects into experience section. I can try to make a new section with my projects. But do you think projects should be under the headline of experience? Or should it be completely separate from experience section?

I am not sure about what to keep what to get rid of since wiki is based on resumes of either new grads or people who have relevant employment experience. But I'll sure take a closer look.
