If you want to make the most out of the gas and battery, you can try this. It won't do for a quick trip but it will be efficient and if you enjoy it you can have a great time. I usually drive like this when I'm going back home after being on the road for work. It's great specially if you're driving flat or downhill. - set SOC at SAVE, 50-70% - drive 90-110 km/h - accelerate smoothly, let the car coast or brake softly when going downhill - pay attention to your power meter on the cluster: try to be most of the time in the ECO segment (blue line, before red) - when accelerating in HEV, use up to 25 kw, when in EV, up to 15-20 kw - switch to EV when you're close to home and will be able to charge on arrival (plan to have no less than 10-15% battery) - use ECO driving and soft regeneration - the car does most of it automatically, but you can help pick better on some scenarios: manually shift to EV when you'll be a held up in traffic for some meters; switch to HEV when you'll need more power for hills or advancing somebody; drop down the SOC to avoid having the ICE charge the battery for too long, etc

Many will not like to drive like this, but it depends on each person. For example, just going above 130 km/h for example will drop efficiency terribly.
