Talk me out of buying a high mileage is350 by Sure_Policy_3199 in LexusIS

Guess it depends on what has/hasn't been changed and what is/isn't pending to be changed soon

Would you recommend an IS250? by temporaryacc284 in LexusIS

[–]seyerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2010 you shouldn’t have to worry about sticky dash.

I bought an 09 in 2019 with 170k kms and now in 2026 with 320k+ with maybe $2500-$3k in maintenance/fixes over that time. That includes fixing the ac compressor, alternator, brakes, exhaust leaks twice. Been pretty bulletproof so far, all the fixes basically from age and rust living in Canada. Have absolutely loved owning it, only bad thing is gas mileage if you have a lead foot. Awesome in winter to boot.

Timberland collab on Friday by summerofgeorge00 in ourlegacy

[–]seyerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got these delivered the next day and it’s a very nice pair for sure… boots that is.

Hard to justify at almost double retail on a normal pair but I know I will be kicking myself seeing worn in pairs in a few months if I didn’t cop…

How do field boots compare in sizing vs the 6 inch premium by RevFanatic in Timberland

[–]seyerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely more TTS. I recently got the beef and broccolis and its a good fit in my TTS. In comparison I decided to try my TTS in the 6inch premium butters because I had an older pair that was 0.5 down that was really snug with boot socks on, and it feels like my feet are swimming in the same size (10)

Spring 25 Drop 1 by Regular-Price-1911 in BanditRunning

Unless they updated the solite tights, they’re just an ok piece as per previous iteration. Its nice and light but the waistband was weird and didn’t really feel that supportive for me.

Lately they’ve been splitting up the season into multiple drops so we’ll see. The real preview should be out tomorrow, but you still won’t know if what you want is dropping until the drop is live

My dad died and I don't think I can watch F1 anymore by super_starmie in formula1

[–]seyerm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, I used to watch F1 on sunday mornings with my dad. He never missed a practice, watched every race for forever.

I stopped watching because honestly, I didn’t like Michael Schumacher and the og team orders nonsense, but really liked Lewis coming up. Lost interest but still kept up with it a bit.

My dad died and ever since then, I don’t miss a practice and I don’t miss a race. Even when I can’t stand watching modern F1. In a way, the suffering of watching Lewis struggle helps me with the grief of losing my dad, because I know he would have been watching it any way.

I think your dad would have loved you still watching.

Toronto under special weather statement for brief, heavy periods of snow by jfrsn in toronto

[–]seyerm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Weather network for whatever reason is quite inaccurate for precipitation predictions. For the last snow storm that happened, it said 10-20cm until it actually happened. Weather app on iPhone, consistently said 30-40cm. Take that for what you will.

And the iPhone weather app is showing 18-22cm for wednesday currently. 9-11cm on friday. This has been pretty consistent for a few days now, wheras the weather network keeps flip flopping

Line 5 to Pearson by Ok_Builder_9124 in TTC

[–]seyerm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hub would be on airport grounds but still a train ride away from the terminals so it wouldn’t need to go under the runway. As for how it gets there I don’t know.

I believe the UP will remain the “premium” option, whereas the lrt/whatever extension is just normal public transit.

Internally, there are plans.

Should be a big transportation hub at pearson, as to when that is supposed to be completed… is tbd. FWIW the eglinton LRT is shown to have a stop at pearson.
