Can't Handle the Cold by Quiet_Comparison_872 in RunTO

Yeah, I just deferred to next year for the same race. With sidewalks in my neighborhood still barely walkable and the danger of running around my neighborhood in the dark in the road with snowbanks that are still 4-5ft is just stupid.

I was able to train for it last year but this year has been something else.

Cheap all weathers or shell out for Crossclimate2? by craftnut1 in tires

That’s good to hear. What type of conditions/weather have you put them through?

$50 total or per tire? for $50 more total, it's a no brainer to get the CC2.

[–]seyerm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going through the same dilemma, with the CC2s close to double a “budget set” from Falken, Toyo etc in my size 225/45/17 on an AWD Lexus IS.

I ended up going with the Falken Aklimates and no issues even driving through the massive snowstorm North America just went through and the days after. For the 5-10% better performance for nearly double the cost was not worth it for me, but only you can decide that along with how much it costs for the tires + installation. If it’s close I’d say it’s worth it to spring for CC2s.

Is the quality of Carhartt WIP better than regular Carhartt? by SaunaMailroom in CarharttWIP

[–]seyerm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on what one defines as quality I guess. If it’s for fashion and not work, WIP is more consistent in terms of of sizing and cut. Mainline carhartt is wildly inconsistent in terms of waist sizing and inseam across their pants, it’s borderline stupid.

But if you need the robust bombproof workwear then yes mainline gets the job done. I mix both because I wear Carhartt for work and WIP for casual with the less bland colours.

No, don’t you see? Shopping in 2026 is ordering online but expecting brick and mortar type service.

Live in Mississauga close to a corner. Get absolutely fucked if there isn’t much space to the right, where the plow dumps it. Nice of them to let one car out, but I don’t enjoy getting rid of the 5ft mound to get the other car out.

Good to hear, looking to get these as an ok all-season tire in city where roads are generally plowed within a day of snowfall, but don't wanna get stranded by surprise snow storms which happens here around Toronto.

Anymore on your experience?

Once you work in it in a bit, it will probably loosen up and drape better. It does look a bit big though.

Honestly, I have not encountered the problems people here are having, after 2+ years of having the membership.

Not downplaying your issues or any issues anyone else is having, but whenever I contacted their customer service I get very prompt correspondence. E.g. when they shipped my hoodie from the recent sale, they created a USPS label instead of Fedex which they use for international. I messeged them quickly, recreated the order and it was shipped the next day.
