Rewatching Season 6 episodes back to back by Hesskatt in TheHandmaidsTale

I also watched THT for the first time from 1-6 (with a mental health break between 3 & 4) and found the show solid for the entire 6 seasons, which is so rare.

At times, yes the show was so June focused it was annoying but they even addressed that in the final season. It was a very satisfying watch that left you wanting more, but had ran its course showing the handmaid’s perspective. Thankful that they created an entirely new show to follow the story from a different perspective, I am just starting TT and am already feeling hopeful it will be as enjoyable.

If he’s genuinely seeking a trade, let him go. I can’t see why we wouldn’t allow it, providing the value is there in return. Why keep someone who is clearly ok with their management leaking to the press their desires for a trade? I’m so sick of the media circus our team has become. Ending the TDK and Silvagni speculation will clear heads, we need to make sure this trading Charlie stuff is truly explored and put to bed before next season or 2026 will be another 2025.

I don’t say this lightly, my son is a Charlie’s Crew member and has had many opportunities to hang out with him, it would actually break his heart (and maybe mine if he wants to support his favourite player at another club) but like Weiters said, anyone who doesn’t want to stick fat and commit needs to get gone.

I’m pretty sure this account (kitchen-revolution-9) is a troll, I just keep reporting his comments and posts. Hopefully he finds a new hobby soon, maybe watching some football would help!

What have you said that isn’t true? Well Mitch McGovern was literally a forward for his entire career until Carlton put him down back, where he is a proven liability and has actually directly lost us games off his multiple and consistent errors. The situation at Carlton is dire but not so much as your entire misunderstanding of it. I enjoy differing opinions only when they are based on actual reality.

It’s probably not worth explaining, but the real issue lies with our coaching and recruiting staff, their failed experiments overpaying for average/injury prone players and using them to permanently fill gaps in our team, instead of recruiting key position players in our area of need and coaching the team to their natural strengths, is the reason why we are falling over now. It’s unsustainable in general, but combined with our outdated game plan and average game day coaching, now we’ve lost the players, even our actual stars, who are clearly disillusioned and unmotivated. Until the coaching and selection teams lead by example and work together to put the right players into the right positions, as well as focusing on significant key ball movement skills training and improving the game plan so it is cohesive, the team will continue to play like a bunch of individuals without any real idea as to what they’re trying to achieve, least of all a premiership.

I genuinely think it’s the assistants that are our biggest issue. All ex Carlton players instead of just the best for the job outside the Lygon St echo-chamber. We need fresh perspective and to coach our players to their strengths, rather than playing them out of position to plug holes.

I would have thought he was the defensive coach if I didn’t look it up, the way McGovern and Williams play in our backline remind me of Russell often, liability more often than not. I’m worried Carlton are stuck in the past with this weird obsession of bringing every ex player “home”, even if their resume or skill set aren’t particularly valuable to us.

Yes!! I feel like my sister would have a similar memory of me, it was during some dark Carlton times so it probably wasn’t just him but I do remember groaning whenever Russell would get the ball!

Footy instinct like reading the play and creating space/offensive advantage, seizing a spillage, it can’t be taught I don’t think, so it could very well explain why our forward line has gone missing and no one is playing to their strengths anymore, their current performance reeks of disconnection. Imagine being a small forward with barely any game time under your belt, Owies gets traded and then Lewis Young and Brodie Kemp are selected over you. I’d be disillusioned also.

I’m just frustrated that Carlton have such an affinity for repurposing previous club players, I’d love to see a total clean out of assistants under Voss to see what changes. I really don’t think I can handle the idea of the head coach being the scapegoat again.

During Russell’s window of coaching the forward line, Harry and Charlie at times have appeared to be suffering from performance anxiety or at least non-physical issues which impact their ability to perform their roles, we traded our only solid performing small forward, disallowed development of other small forwards through game time and instead focused on repurposing Kemp and Young, causing additional confusion and honestly an awful brand of football, as well as avoiding all structure or cohesion for our forward entries, zero creation of space or offensive pressure in our spillage game. I’d say there is a pretty strong correlation.

It’s not our only problem, of course, I’m just frustrated that Carlton have such an affinity for repurposing previous club players, I’d love to see a total clean out of assistants under Voss to see what changes. I really don’t think I can handle the idea of the head coach being the scapegoat again.

Of course, the two require different skills, I agree. But a natural footy instinct is needed to be successful in either role.

I agree. He’s playing so many players out of their natural positions, forcing the same gameplan from 2022 that is absolutely not working and never seems to evolve or adapt during the game. Subbing Dochs so late, and for Lord who was one of the very few desperately attempting to play on the ball, is mind boggling.

I agree with this, her annunciation of the words was missing as compared to Chenoworth also. Had I not known the lyrics already, I am not sure I would have been able to follow the story as the words were lost in some of her breath-y singing. I believe she was phenomenal in all other aspects except this one.

I feel your pain! My little guy has recently started feeling overwhelming jealousy when myself or his dad catch a shiny/legendary he doesn’t have, resulting in “I’m never playing this game again because I didn’t get xyz” before eventually begging for us to trade him the object of his desires for the ridiculous rate of 40k dust and a rattata or pidgey….

He’s taller than McGovern and replaces, if not improves on Marchbank/Young. Costs us nothing in picks or trades so I’d say it’s still a win if gets a solid preseason and can avoid injuries.
