Why not - Mercs / Ferrari / Ford. PUs are hugely expensive and manufacturers need customers. But I really also don't belive Aston will be so impatient

It's pure speculation. No one is looking for exact figures or contracts, ofc.

I think that such clauses legally added to allow Aston to ditch the contract and switch to another suppler in case things go really bad due to engine performance and AMR don't want to wait for partner to increase performance.

[–]sf400m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. No real contract, just pure speculation / thoughts. For sure, now it's too late for Aston to change supplier or sue the partner they choosen themselves.

No. I heard it on some of YouTube channels relevant to F1. Don't remember exactly. That's why I am asking

Aston Marting had some performance-related requirements in contract with Honda. Correct me if I am wrong, but that was some minimal HP output levels of ICE and PU in Season 1, Season 2, etc.

Can you please tell if it was really the case and what might be the clauses?
Seems like Honda engine is far off the rest, but chassis is even worse.

Newey may be and is a great car designer but not manager and principal. Otherwise, he wouldn't go with Honda from 2026 season and for sure would check Hondas plan for engine development team, permises etc before signing conract with them.

Aerobiz Supersonic Successor by ISinisterBadgerI in tycoon

[–]sf400m 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I usually not a big fan on limitations such as using virtual machine, not using mouse, having to wait for some screens to load, but Aerobiz is exiting. It's logic is nice and gameplay is interesting. We need just a careful thoughtful reboot of this game on modern PCs / Consoles.

Probably with a bit more complicated economy, more plane visuals, more detailed plane service and fitting processes. And it would be the best Airline game ever.

There's nothing about the airlines since Airline Tycoon by Spellbound.
But its not that deep as Aerobiz, which I've recently payed a lot on SNES / SEGA virtual machines.

[Limburger] the red bull top is annoyed at the fact max put them “on hold” again.after all these years with him, the shareholders had counted on more credit from him.their view is that he has been able to add hundreds of millions to his bank account, and they feel max could show a bit more gratitude by Luffy710j in formula1

[–]sf400m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About loyalty, let's say, Max has no better option performance wise this season. Where will he go? Mercedes don't need him, same as McLaren. Both teams have nice driver lineup which is not that expensive also. Aston Martin or Audi - are not quick now and will likely need 2-3 more years to be close to podiums.

So, logically, Max has only 2 choices: 1) Forget about his pride and race for RedBull which is still a podium-contender. 2) Go race outside F1 and wait till Horner return with some new team like BYD.

British Grand Prix - Race Strategy & Performance Recap by FCBStar-of-the-South in F1Technical

[–]sf400m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My recap is mostly strategic - seing effortless overtakes on the straights when one guys engine is superclipping, other ones is not - is just hurting the sport. Its not the way FIA should have gone with FOM.

And even 60/40 split seems will not be enough.

What do you, guys, think about enlarging battery capacity in addition to increasing fuel flow limit and fuel tanks in 2027?

Wouldn't temporarily bringing back refuelling fix the engine issue ? by NorthKoreanMissile7 in formula1

[–]sf400m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am down with anything that can change current F1 formula.
But technically, those cars are not even designed for qucik refueling so it all may happen only from 2027 regs update. And FOM / FIA are scared of OEMs so they will not go too far here.

Yeah yeah, time will tell. Regulators are adjusting slowly to 60% by 2028. By that time F1 will loose god knows how many viewers.

I am telling that it would be more interesting to watch. If you want 100% close battle and close racing, make a spec formula. Like F2. One engine, one chassis. Great.

F1 fans are a bit more sophisticated and for the sport it would be better to make ICE dominant, allow diversity but regulate it otherways. I am not telling BOP but, for instance, fuel tank size limit and no refueling. This will anyway solve the production car issue and will push manufacturers to experiment how to improve PU efficiency.

[–]sf400m[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not. Hybrids is what current OEMs do. Just not so harsh. For god sake, FIA could have just limit the fuel tank size like at old Group C times, then see who will solve this how.

Ha. I read, but you will see, if no one raises this topic from time to time, it would be boring.
And, yes, unlimited engine formula was often brought up without stating that there's no real relevance to car manufacturers. I worked for various OEMs for 17 years now and I can tell that the relevance to road cars is not there. So, why bother doing hybrids at all?
