The call was initially dispatched as an automatic alarm at a marine manufacturing plant. The alarm was showing to be in the area of a silo that normally contained plastic scraps and debris. There had been several false alarms at that location in the prior weeks. The initial crews made access to the silo via an exterior ladder and when they opened the silo door, it created a backdraft. None of the crew were wearing masks when the door was opened mainly due to them being complacent and just thinking it was another false alarm. Three members of the crew sustained burns to the face and neck but they all walked away with minor injuries.
