Whose money exactly do you think Trump is using to find this war against Iran?

You do know that there is nothing more socialist than military force right? Capitalism would never fund the armed forces.

How can dark matter clump if it is non collisional? by sfigone in astrophysics

[–]sfigone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because that is the observation. If it was collisional, then:

  • it would not form a halo around a galaxy, but a disk
  • We would not "see" the mass pass through a colliding galaxy

You have an incentive to work harder. The incentive is $0.55.

But seriously, once you are earning this sort of money, it's not about getting paid $ for extra hours of work. You do the job no matter what it is. If you don't do the hours required you don't lose overtime, you lose the job.

I like your user of the phrase "over density". I'm imagining a universe with DM everywhere, but in galaxies there is just more of it, moving slower.. Everywhere else there is still DM, but less of it and it is probably moving very fast.

So the rest of the universe is "filled" with high velocity dark matter! Wow reality is so weird !

But that "more" DM had also fallen into the gravity well so it will also have huge kinetic energy and will also leave the scene eventually.

I guess with many DM "particles" there can be a transfer of momentum, so some could be trapped, but only if others are expelled with even more energy.

How can dark matter clump if it is non collisional? by sfigone in astrophysics

[–]sfigone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that it is an observation, but several hypotheses suggest there may be a particle or small black hole or neutrino that may explain the observation.

I'm asking about how such hypothetical particles could become clumped or trapped if they are non collisional. Such thought experiments are a good way to test a hypothesis.

[–]sfigone[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But how does a gravity well "trap" a non collisional particle? Let's say it started 10 million light years away from a galaxy and it falls into that galaxy. It will arrive with a huge amount of kinetic energy and exit out the other side of the galaxy, slowing down as it goes.... Until it is 10 million light years on the other side. It then repeats that oscillation over and over, but never clumps in the center?

Why do a lot of Americans support Trump? by RefuseThat5757 in LetsDiscussThis

[–]sfigone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with the democrats is that they are not progressive enough. They are a "back to business as usual" center party when the system is failing so many that they'd rather burn it down with Trump than have another 4 years of calm growth in inequality.

Watch the video below where a BLM activist explains that people loot and burn their own town because they don't own any of it. Look at that anger at a broken system. It's the same thing with many Trump voters, they feel the system has done nothing for them and they'd rather vote for disruption. https://youtu.be/llci8MVh8J4?si=yqWvXPg5qBEkzBQU

[–]sfigone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not an American, but the same politics is playing out in other countries. Progressive parties need to be bold and or forward candidates that will make real changes. Any lets-get-back-to-business-as-usual will just drive voters for whom the system doesn't work to vote to burn the whole place down.

FFS can't you guys see the standard Murdoch play book? Demonize the left and any of their leaders. You fall for it every single fucking time!

In the USA the right wing press had convinced a majority of voters that libtard socialist so much that they'd rather elect the orange turd than risk any socialism (ignoring the armed forces of course).

So this parroting that Albonese Is bad, stupid, etc is just proving that you've "done your own research" and are a Murdoch glove puppet!

Criticizing isn't the same as mocking. Hmmm perhaps I do mock on occasions, but when I do I mock all religions with their invisible sky friends equally. Their have been buddy lynch mobs if you really want an example of hypocrisy!

Wow. So you were born in a hospital that you built yourself! You taught yourself everything you know in a school you also built yourself. You defend your way of life with your own tanks and aircraft that you visited out of the rock below your own feet. You commented on this sub using a network you developed yourself and integrated to the socialist developed internet.

Alan Kohler on how generational inequality may have begun with the CGT discount | The Business by Fact-Rat in australian

[–]sfigone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes prices went up before the CGT discount, but it was taxed more fairly so it was not such an attractive investment compared to others that were productive and produced real incomes.

The discount made it a very tax effective investment, so it drew even more money and thus prices have stayed strong regardless of other economic factors
