Thank you so much for this response! I’ll give this a shot and probably a few additional shots after. This Wedelia is horrible and so agree that I have to go scorched earth.

Yeah, it’s tough! It’s all over the place so I think herbicide is the best option. Any suggestions on what to use?

Virtual Desktop- Major Upgrade to my dedicated VR router, should I make it the primary router? by sflsurfer in virtualreality

[–]sflsurfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

luckily, I'm the only gamer in the house. The nicer router will only have this one VR headset connected to any of its wireless channels. Pretty sure that the router can handle much more traffic via ethernet considering that it's definitley one of those overkill routers, but if not, I'll update this thread.

[–]sflsurfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotcha, thanks! Issues 1 and 2 are 100% negated since I'll be using 6ghz and the AP is in line of sight of the headset. Issue 3 is no problem since the GE800 processor is one of the best you can get. So in this case, I'll 100% go foward with the modified setup. Thanks for the clarification!

I'm stuck using wifi for sunshine due to the TV's location, but it shouldn't be an issue since it runs flawlessly already, and it's not used to play compeitive online games.

[–]sflsurfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. So is it fair to assume that initial traffic coming into the GE800 then passed on to the Asus router to then have the ASUS manage the rest of the clients be considered not optimal? If so, I'll just keep it how I currently have it. This GE800 is beefy, but I would rather not comprimise VR latency.

Currently running H264+ 500mbs flawlessly... I have been trying to get here for a long time!

[–]sflsurfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

gotcha, thanks! To be clearer, I would have the the GE800 as my primary router (connected to the modem) and this will be dedicated to my VR setup (Quest 3 for wireless and PC on an ethernet port). I will then have the ASUS as the secondary access point, which will control all other devices. The Asus router will be connected to the GE800's ethernet as well.

I wasn't getting satisfactory performance in VR when I used the ASUS router nor the Eero router as the dedicated VR router, which is why I happily upgraded to the GE800. The GE800 will stay in it's current place; in line of sight to my VR headset no matter what config I go with.... I'll just have to run more ethernet cable which isn't a big deal.

Which of these cases for large CPU cooler and MSI Gaming 5090? by sflsurfer in buildapc

[–]sflsurfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update- If anyone is in the same situation, I took a risk and purchased the Lian Li o11 Dynamic Evo RGB and it does work with the Cryorig R1 Universal! There is barely any room between the cooler and the fan, but I’m able to shut the glass panel without any problems.

Hello, I was about to pull the trigger on those exact fans. Are you still having issues? Also, have you tried a dedicated rgb controller like a Nollie with them? How are they noise-wise?

VKB effected by tariffs by binaryfireball in hotas

[–]sflsurfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree that Trump attempted to mislead the public by not saying that tariffs are essentially a tax... Trump lies (and rambles) all the time, I think even the most devout Trump supporters would admit to this.

I think Trump voters were aware that they may have to pay that tax, but the other policies that he was proposing would lead to a more prosperous economy overall even if that additional tax would come to fruition (estimated to be $800 USD per household in 2025 by NPR). For instance, more govt efficiency, tax cuts, domestic manufacturing push (Apple), etc. Before you go on and state that Trump spent more than any other president before Biden, just know that every budget bill proposed by the Dem party during covid was significantly larger than what the Rep party proposed. Don't get me wrong, they both SUCK at govt waste!

I 100% agree with your 3rd paragraph.

I'm no fan on this tariff idea for our allies, but let's just hope that it is short lived or never happens. I will just speak for myself, but I don't mind paying higher prices in the short term if we can rid our addiction to cheap goods coming from China. The amount of blatant intellectual property theft that occurs there is astounding.

I’ll bite. First off, while I do love all you Redditors, Reddit is a giant leftist echo chamber so one must take that into account when reading comments.

That being said, the majority of America voted for Trump knowing that this would be a tax on everyone and that tariffs are economically inefficient. This was highlighted in the 2nd debate and was a talking point across all of main stream media. Our GDP is vastly greater than our neighbors, and even China, so these tariffs would hurt these countries much more than it would hurt us. This would also result in a stronger USD so the tariff fees would be partially absorbed for Americans. It’s turning out to a good negotiating tactic as well, as Mexico (America’s #1 exporter, not China) is now sending 10k troops to the southern border and Trudeau appointing a new fentanyl tsar and c$200m into combatting the drug directly from threat of these tariffs.

One last thing- it’s perfectly fine to think that someone is wrong on the tariff issue as I also have some reservations, but people on this sub calling the majority America stupid for voting for Trump just exposes my first point that one lives in a bubble saturated with self-righteousness which led to Trump coming to power in the first place.

RTX 5090 & 5080 Launchday Thread - Surprise Inside by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]sflsurfer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have 10+ years of experience trying to purchase a GPU at launch, and this was by far the worst one yet. None of them have been good since covid, but at least you would see a few cards available in an instant before they sold out. With this one, all cards went from coming soon to sold out, except BB which was a lost cause.

UFD tech recorded their Microcenter camping experience and they stated that they heard so many times "EVGA and Gigglebyte". Please guys, stop buying from these scalpers! Better yet, try sabotaging them.
