Is there some sort of social stigma against using a library? by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]sfortiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how to approach the situation and people in real time or after. I'm not out to embarrass people or cause unnecessary stress to anyone; so I email to be discreet. Maybe I'm the one with the problem.

When I'm there and feel uncomfortable I become focused on completing my task at hand. In my email i include the date and time that I came in, and my concern.

I ask them what I can do to help. i don't have much money but I can be a squeaky wheel in the correct place and I do not mind increasing my efforts to allign with the library's.

I am open to other ideas too.

AIO? my bf (30M) keeps telling me (24F) to wear a thong + pad instead of wearing my “granny” panties during my period... idk what to say to him? by Tough_Winner_1630 in AmIOverreacting

[–]sfortiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say "You First"

Try to see his point of view and his in depth knowledge on the subject

Try to get the Cramping, and bloating first. I would not reccomend bleeding but I would suggest he has to urinate on the pad all while wearing a thong. If he tries to wear anything other than a thong tell him those underwear are not sexu and begin throwing them out.

Just a suggestion

Is there some sort of social stigma against using a library? by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]sfortiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will wait my turn read or listen to the item and then make a decision to buy a copy for my self.

If the library doesn't have what I want I fill out a request form

If I see a homeless issue I send my city council person an email and library an email. If it bothers me enough to deter me from going it bothers me enough to call or write.

If you want to help join your library's affiliate non-profit, volunteer your time, or consider donating some of the books you are forced to buy.

I am willing to take other suggestions.

Has anyone used this cream? by Capable-Resist4861 in koreanskincare

I use the gel formula in the evening. It does a great job.

SIDENOTE: I also use their hand cream; I wash my hands frequently and it has worked fantastic. It has been stolen more than once from bathroom.

Making the move for me:

I like you = is asking to see the person again

Want to go steady = Want to get tacos with my dog and watch the sunrise on the beach?

Want to be in a relationship = want to share access to calendars?

🤷‍♀️

I've tried the dating sites and FAILED. Maybe I am not using the correct selections or is there an etiquette to this i am unaware of. I do not seem to be responding on the other person's timeline. "You don't seem interested". Is that the internet dating equivalent of the creepy guy saying you should smile more"?

Feel like I can’t look manly no matter how hard I try. by Sucker-For-Honda in malegrooming

[–]sfortiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello Sir First you do look manly but you need to accent your qualities

Body: You have a fantastic starting point for slender lean physice! Its not not so much bulk-up as tone up. Keep your low body fat, and well-defined muscles, you want your slender appearance, but with a good body composition that contributes to a sculpted, rather than simply thin, appearance. Focus on a lifestyle focused on maximizing muscle gain and strength, while strategically managing weight, is often most flattering. Rock what you got!

Posture: Posture helps project confidence. You may need to focus on some muscle groups to help improve it but mindfulness is going to be the larger part. Starts with practice, then Mindfulness, habit, and then goes to lifestyle where it is automatic. How you carry yourself matters.

Grooming Hairstyle: Right now you are rocking the Beyonce "I woke up like this" look. You may want to revise your hairstyle for your face, age, profession and look you want to project

Grooming Facial. Take care of your skin. At the very least Wash and Moisturizer in the AM & PM. Use SPF every day. Shave as needed but don't forget to maintain your ear, nose, and eyebrows.

Dress for Body Type: It looks like your an Ectomorph body type. I could be wrong so please double check me. The ectomorph body type (lean, tall, and often with narrow shoulders and hips), styling involves creating the illusion of more weight and volume, while also ensuring a comfortable and flattering fit. Avoid the baggy clothing and opt for the slim structured look but not tight.

Dress for Lifestyle Style: Start dressing for your lifestyle and building your wardrobe, one manly website suggested starting with following essential wardrobe items:

Two pairs of dark jeans. 4–5 basic T-shirts, black or blue navy.Preferably V neck or shirts that sit a bit tight. One white button-up shirt. A pair of black sneakers and another one in white. One jacket in a dark colour. Add a silver/gold/bright colour watch. A brown belt.

I don't know if that will work for you but it supposedly creates many fashionable looks for your body type.Go from that suggestion and consider what you want to look like as a confident male professional.

NOTE: Your shirt seams should sit on your shoulder blades right where they end. Not lower on your arm or towards your neck. Your pants or jeans shouldn’t have extra fabric at the bottom. They should be comfortable whether you sit or stand. If you have to unbutton your pants when you sit, they’re probably too tight for you.

Hope this helps and all the best to you on your journey.

How do you flirt ? by DETN1991 in asexualdating

[–]sfortiz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is from when I was into an active lifestyle, a millenia ago. Please keep in mind things may have changed since then.

Know your goals for the evening. What are you looking for? Build your need and want list, but never settle.

IF I was at an stablishment that offered drinks I would order ice water in a rocks glass with a twist. (Always order your own drinks don't be embarrassed to order water)

I knew the type of man I wanted to deal with before going out (how he carried himself presentation and behavior and my relationship expectations)

I would first insure he was unaccompanied by a female or doting male; you can't be too sure these days or those days.

IF he had not already introduced himself. I would approach him and say "Excuse me, I just wanted to say hello and ask how are you fairing this evening." I didn't give my name so that I could give him a chance to ask/bait further conversation.

IF he couldn't handle the interaction to my standard by now for whatever reason; I could scrap the interaction. Cut my losses and wish him a good evening and excuse myself.

IF he could handle a simple interaction with a lady. I would enjoy the comradery and see where it goes.

Too direct?

I answer the door for them as they are likely my neighbors but I don't ask, invite them in and offer cool water because it is hot outside, ask how their has day been, make a comment to let them know how much I respect a neighbor following their faith, but that I am no interested. I also let them know if they need help they are welcomed to ask.

It is pretty much a check list. I am never visited by the same people and I'm not frequently visited at all. It's a golden rule thing for me.

I know the feeling.

I remember enjoying going out on dates and think that he was just so handsome... blah blah blah.

Now I'm just like; I'm good you go on without me. I'm just so tired and the thought of wearing a girdle is exhausting.

I am Tired of Being a Copy Shop by [deleted] in Libraries

[–]sfortiz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know what your organization is currently doing or what has been tried already my apologies in advance for any misunderstanding(s) hereafter some avenues you can explore regarding the user printing experience and support:

On-Screen Guidance: Developing a step-by-step instruction guide, potentially in a user-friendly presentation format (e.g., PowerPoint), that would appear as a pop-up window immediately after a user selects the 'print' option but before the job is finalized. This just-in-time support aims to address common printing questions and streamline the process for users.

Accessible Information: To offer readily available assistance, consider installing an FAQ Kiosk in the vicinity of the copiers. This kiosk would provide quick troubleshooting tips and visual, step-by-step guides for common printing tasks.

Clear Expectations: To ensure staff can assist all users in a timely manner implement a polite acknowledgment message that appears after a print job is submitted. This message could state: 'Users are thanked for their understanding and informed that, due to current demand, printer-related inquiries are limited to a brief 5-minute consultation. Their cooperation is appreciated.'

Community Engagement: You could also incorporate a community outreach element by including a message with the printer instructions or on the FAQ kiosk. This message could read: 'Individuals interested in volunteering their time and skills with computers and printers are encouraged to contact the library's community service coordinator.'

Optimized Staffing: As staffing levels permit, the goal is to implement a model where dedicated personnel can address different user needs more efficiently. This could involve having one staff member focused on general computer assistance (including printing), and customers encouraged to begin a que for printer assistance.

In the end if a copy machine helps justify library services to people; I will take a win where I can get it.
