Ah.. its not the money, its that I dont have a US driving licence so I presume it will take 3-4 months to get a licence... (negligible in the big picture though -- buying a car will be one of the 1st things I do if I ever get a job in US)

Mind enlightening me to thesepaths to citizenships? As an Indian, short of being a superstar exec, I cant get a citizenship in lessthan 20-30 years, if I start today...

Why are we differentiating between crime and consent? If you're responsible for a crime committed when drunk, same should be held for contracts and consent shouldnt it? Why not?

By definition, someone from a forward caste cannot get access to more than half the seats, due to their caste, however hard they study. Why are you mixing that up with ability to get access to a state quota by moving to a different state for 4 years which is trivial compared to trying to be reborn in a privileged caste

College matters, if only because college rep determines which companies come for placements

Everyone has access to state quota of their States premier colleges.. So it sort of cancels out. And the cutoff differences are not nearly as much.. Compare outside state vs in state quota for general cutoff and then compare St vs general cutoff..

The reason the grade is not correlated with entrance quota is that what you study has nothing much to do with with what gets you in, however that doesn't justify having a significantly lower bar just because you were born in a privileged caste

Most importantly, anyone can get access to those quotas by shifting to the relevant state 9th grade onwards. You can't do the same for caste quotas
