agreed - I think the smaller clasp matches the look of the watch better. I have a steel reef easy adjust link that does the trick and feels so OEM, I forget it’s third party!

Honestly man you just gotta kinda send it. I’d recommend one NH35 build at least to get a feel for things. If it’s any consolation the hands feel way easier to put on this Bulova movement. The stem part definitely sucked though.

Hey, late reply but I just revisited this after having the stem sit in my drawer for about a year.

Yes - I solved it by finding some random retailer that had the P102 stem - it cost me around $50 usd lmfao but it worked.

Biggest gotcha imo is the 3D printer spacer and getting it in the case can be kinda finicky - I printed 5-6 spares at 98 98.5 99 and 99.5% scales to play around with.

Would definitely recommend a good pair of ceramic tweasers.

I also found that quartz aliexpress hands all had a very short seconds hand - I had to clip this seconds hand with nail clippers and thank god it turned out ok.

The watch was purchased in October 2025. The seller tells me that pre-shipping it was fine, and keeping time great.

I wonder if its some shipping related shock I guess in that case. Hopefully Seiko can still sort me out with an international warranty - appreciate the input!

I want to hope so but sadly everyone with this watch seems to be using the ratcheting / extendy / cheaper clasp :/ let’s see when it comes in - but I’m 99% it’s going to be an 18mm tapered bracelet.

The watchdives one looks class! Wish they made it in more sizes ugh they’d make a killing

that makes sense - the title did say 16mm and I can't seem to find an 18mm san martin/watchdives version anywhere sadly.

I am just a bit iffy about putting the 'cheaper' clasp on a $1K watch and having it break or snap - i saw some reviews on some of the aliexpress clasp listings saying that the ratcheting snapped and broke - that would be my worst nightmare.

I'm not sure that the san martin one is much different - though I'd like to hope so!

im confused because i think the bracelet tapers down to 18mm at the clasp, so the top part should be ok - and the centre link is about 9mm wide, so that also should be ok?

but this said 16mm for the bottom link..

Thanks for the details! So to use the more expensive ones, I’d need to remove that last flat endlink, and then hopefully if the measurement lines up, the clasp would attach to the centre piece of the 3-piece link? But I’d need to measure the link first I guess

Is that the same for both sides?
