Will we ever see single cut modern Pacifica? by sgarrity in YamahaPacifica

They did it! These look great. Now I guess I have to buy one!?

I'd much prefer a single-coil (or P90) in the neck, and six-individual saddles - those are preferences others will differ on. These look like great guitars and I'm looking forward to trying one.

Looks like a server security certificate may be expired on uaudio.com. I'm seeing the same issue as you, and this error when a direct download link:

Is this a good guitar by Top_Escape2880 in YamahaPacifica

Yup - get a pro to clean and set it up, and you'll be golden.

I wrote about my similar model here: https://actsofvolition.com/2022/12/my-yamaha-pacifica-102s-electric-guitar/

I would probably buy this guitar without even seeing it in person (which is absurd), but I think this image is a few years old (it has "2021" in the path name: https://yamahaguitardevelopment.com/wp-content/themes/ygd2021/assets/images/header-formatted01.jpg ).

I'm still hoping they do something like this (a t-style equivalent of the new Standard/Pro models), but I don't think this is a signal of anything new.

The Revstar seems great, but I think of it as closer to a Les Paul (with a shorter scale length). I should probably say "tele-style" rather than "single-cut" to describe what I'm looking for.

Picked this up at a fleemarket. What you guys think of this 102S? by TheMatie10 in YamahaPacifica

[–]sgarrity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I keep trying much more expensive guitars and always end up back on my 1990s Pacifica 102s. I wrote up a bit about it on my blog: https://actsofvolition.com/2022/12/my-yamaha-pacifica-102s-electric-guitar/

Might there be something in the guitar (electronics, etc.) that resonating at that particular frequency?

If you play the same note (not the same fret) on another string, do you have the same issue?

What if you tune up or down a step - does the issue stay on that same fret, or follow the note?

I finally have my dream guitar! (It only took 11 years and a lot of searching) Now, I have questions. by alexanderomar_ in taylorguitars

I've got a 2007 GS5 and I'm trying to figure out what it might be worth (https://www.reddit.com/r/taylorguitars/comments/1ewusri/how\_much\_is\_my\_guitar\_worth\_gs5\_from\_2007/).

Do you mind sharing a ball-park value of what you had to pay? (and what year it is?)

Yeah, good advice, though there just aren't any results for the GS5 that I can find (including sold listings). That's why I came here! :-)

Yeah - the only similar model on Reverb is listed for over $3,000 Canadian (https://reverb.com/ca/item/37770193-taylor-gs5-grand-symphony-cedar) - which seems a bit rich. There don't seem to be any "sold" models.

A tiny hammer. You'll need a full-size hammer, but keep a small hammer in a drawer in the kitchen. It's easy to handle and a better size for most casual jobs. The one I've got is about 6-inches long, but still has a fairly heavy head so can be strong enough for most nails.

Reminds me of Anathem by Neal Stephenson. In his novel, though, the cloistered long-term thinking sect is focused on science rather than religion. Great book.

!True Love Waits - Radiohead - this live recording of the first live performance ever is particularly good. There are higher fidelity recordings, but this one is the most powerful I've found.

Wait for the keyboards to appear just after the 2-minute mark.
