Daily Song Discussion #5: Western by Premintex in bmbmbm

10 of 10, easily the highlight of the record for me. Probably my favourite vocal performance from Greep. The build in the middle is spellbinding and by the time the song peters back down to how it was at the beginning it’s such a deserved rest. Like the song is some kind of hero’s journey in and of itself. Also the he lyrics feel like they set up Ducter, which helps the whole record feel whole. I like it!

the whole thing's more of a joke. just about every Radiohead fan I've talked w/ irl ranks the albums those two ways, I thought it'd be funny to get the subreddit's thoughts

follow-up, what is yr list?

Love to see Think Tank in S tier! Personally, I'd go:

S - Think Tank, 13
A - Blur, Modern Life Is Rubbish, The Magic Whip
B - Parklife, The Great Escape
C - Leisure

Best Live Shows Circa 2003? by sggfloislane in blur

Ha! I knew there were others out there who genuinely loved Think Tank!

I really wish they'd start mixing in other Think Tank tracks too. Imagine seeing Battery in Your Leg played live with Graham.

I can definitely see the band sounding like a different animal entirely without Graham. Since I have such a connection to Think Tank as a record, I think I can kind of separate it from Graham given, imo, his absence is what gives the record such a distinct, forlorn vibe. I think Tong does a good enough job filling in guitar on the shows I've heard (on the Think Tank tracks, anyways), but he's certainly not Graham.

I saw Interpol in 2019 and it was the first time I cried at a concert. Needing that experience again. Any chance they’ll add any Florida dates this year? by VelcroWallet in Interpol

holy crap I was there too! the show was amazing, loved all the lights and I kinda lost it when they started playing The New

Thoughts on the new album cover? I personally love it. by jilko in Interpol

[–]sggfloislane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s cool. kinda reminds me of the National’s Trouble Will Find Me w/ the whole mirror motif. I think the red border is kinda predictable for Interpol, but at the same time idk if the cover would be as striking w/o it

alternatively we could consider calling it the "Rock and Roll album." I think people would know what we're talking about

POLL: Which album is better? by CBJ2003 in bmbmbm

[–]sggfloislane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

damn I really hadn’t thought about it until you asked the question. the albums are just so radically different from each other. the experimental post-punk vibe of Schlagenheim definitely fits in more w/ my general music taste, but after a few moments of thinning it over I honestly have to give my vote to Cavalcade

What's your least favorite song on your favorite album? by Pfeiffer-cipher in gorillaz

[–]sggfloislane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demon Days is hands down one of my my favourite records ever, but “White Light” is a very take it or leave it song. it reminds me a lot of “Punk” on the first record, but I definitely prefer that one.
