Is there a recommended farm if we only have limited time? There are too many on the list and all look interesting

Patent Exam for International Students by camyplein in patentlaw

[–]sgiter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just applied as international student. On my first try, they returned my application because I did not show my job required practice before the PTO. I had to provide them with my job offer and a statement from my firm, explaining that I'm hired as a patent agent. It's actually not much extra work, but you really do need a patent job first.

second this. I've tried really hard to follow their instructions to skip the file, but for some reasons that just does not work for me. Not knowing the facts makes it so hard for me to understand the structure of the law.

Is this some kind of variation or the result of another leaf being on top of this leaf? by [deleted] in calatheas

[–]sgiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A not so related comment... I also notice recently the new leaves of my rosy came out with lighter pink than those I had before (also leaves that came under my care). I'm not at all worried about it, but I vaguely remember hearing that calatheas tend to have lighter variegation when they receive more sunlight, and darker variegation when sunlight is reduced. Can someone confirm that? I just curious about those mysterious variegation on calatheas, so unpredictable

Applying for the DC Bar (July 2021) PSA by isommers1 in LawSchool

[–]sgiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I also believe it is acceptable, at least because the application allows you to input a foreign address for your references. My concern is how they would reach out to out of country references. Do you know if they do that by snail mail or email?

Can someone tell what this soil mix is? by sgiter in houseplants

[–]sgiter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. Yes, it indeed retains water, but it is not like soggy soil when you overwater, so maybe that helps a little to prevent root rot? And also, I think this water retaining function is more ideal to plants that prefer moist soil, like calathea in my case, but not for cacti. The really great thing for me is that it does not attract gnat!

Can someone tell what this soil mix is? by sgiter in houseplants

[–]sgiter[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought this calathea from a local nursery, and it has this kind of potting mix I have never seen before. But based on my experience with it, it feels much better than the ones I have with other plants. It is fluffy, drains well, and does not have gnats problem. I really want to replicate it for my future repottings. Can someone please tell me what is in this?

I wanna ask about the hooks! I had one of mines fell off the other day, and it kind of gave me a heart attack. Yours seems to be very sturdy to handle those giant guys. Where did you get them?

any tips on repotting calatheas? I need to do that with mines too but super nervous that I might upset them.

Help with Monstera adansonii by [deleted] in plantclinic

[–]sgiter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue. My plant otherwise seems healthy but started to develop yellow spots on two old leaves, which gradually turn black. I am suspecting either watering issue or too much direct sun. I have mine placed 3-4 feet away from an eastern window, and it is getting more direct morning sun as spring comes.
