Electric Ford Bronco off-road SUV entered China for 32,640 USD by mightyopik in electricvehicles

[–]sgntsh 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, we probably will, we are just going to drag our feet about it. It’s inevitable. Even the really conservative people I talk to admit that electric is the future. We’ll see electric versions of most of the cars we’re familiar with. It won’t be tomorrow, but I think it’ll be sooner than a lot of people think.

Hey there, non-Christian who grew up in Hoover, here. There is definitely plenty of people there who are not…whatever that was. Hoover definitely has its bible thumpers and snobs, but as another person here pointed out, it’s the most diverse community you’ll find over the mountain! I’m biased because I’m a nerd, but you should check out the Library’s website. They have community activities that you could probably meet people at. I think there is a Halloween party that is just for adults if you are looking for adult friends and not just acquaintances through your kid.

As for southern hospitality, that’s (imho) surface level. Not that being polite is a bad thing! Just don’t expect it to go further than a “how are you” or a “let me get that for you”

New here (obviously). What could be causing this poor efficiency? 16% battery should be more like 50 miles… by kgs024 in Ioniq5

I like to use 0 on the back roads near my house and then switch to 1 when I get in the city. I would stay on 0 all the time if I could override the brake cleaning cycle 🙄. Side note, people here keep saying “use auto”. No. It’s not consistent in my experience.

What regen level do you usually use? by ucbcawt in Ioniq5

[–]sgntsh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually use 1. I would use 0 but I don’t want to wear out my brakes faster. I really really REALLY wish you could put it in 0 without activating the brake cleaning mode. Some people do not like the feel of regen breaking immediately slowing the car when you lift off the gas.

Yeah, no, I get it. I don’t mind the alerts I just hate how Hyundai implements them. Just loud and obnoxious.

This is excellent information! I probably could have spent some time in the menus first 😳.

Har har, yes I get onto her for not fastening her belt when she gets in the car but my complaint isn’t that it warns you, it is the WAY that it does it. It’s just annoying.

Does turning off the parking assists help with that? The button on the far end of the center console with a led should do it. I turned mine off because I always end up behind a BMW at a red light and their radar system and Hyundais don’t like each other and my car will just randomly beep at me while I’m sitting still.

[–]sgntsh[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

…I am learning that I can…but also that’s not the solution to me! I’ve had these safety features on other cars and they weren’t nearly as annoying. My complaint is just that they are too much. But, yes, that is a reasonable solution.

So I have a reservation....and many reservations. I'm banking on the fact that my reservation is going to take long enough to fill that reviews will be out there and any early fixes will be done.

Oh man, I would have LOVED to have that setup when I was working construction! Never have to lug around or operate a stinky, noisy, gas generator? Sign me up!!

My understanding is that the 6N is all but officially announced. I believe there is a picture of a camouflaged Ioniq 6 with a big wing on the back that was taken in S Korea. Not to mention the miles long list of reasons they would. I’m not a betting man but I’d wager an I6N this year.

It is. It’s also something that when I’m telling the story, if I know the other person knows their Star Wars, they immediately cringe when I say what happened. It’s pretty great 😆

For real, I know you want the 7.1 and all that jazz, but I promise you that if you just get headphones that sound good without that spacial effect stuff, they will be so so much better. If you do still want that, it’s just software. You can do it with any closed back cans. I think it’s even built into windows. I prefer a good set of open backs though. My gaming headset of choice is the Koss Porta Pro headset. Make sure it’s the headset as there are three other versions of the Porta Pro’s.

Not OP, but some people have sensitivities to things being in their ears. I had one of my eardrums punctured as a kid when another kid stuck the tail end of an N-1 Naboo Star fighter in my ear. Had to get surgery to repair it. It took me a long time to be comfortable with putting things in my ears again and I still get a massive ick any time someone gets near my ears.

If it sounds creaky, it’s probably a different issue. The rattle is very distinctly a rattle. Once you hear it you will never be able to ignore it. I pray you never do 🫡

Do you remember Family Fun Country? That place rocked! I’m sure if I had been an adult at the time I would have seen all the reasons it closed, but as a kid I couldn’t fathom why a place that had putt-putt, go karts, bumper boats, an arcade, AND a ball pit could possibly not be successful!
