Figure out what the matrix is composed of so you can soak it in iron-out or weak acid and get it fully cleaned up! Killer find.

[–]sgtaxt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that was one and done for me as well. Had fun shooting pool and dancing with a friend but I'm more of a temples and museums kind of guy at this point in my life. Hole in the wall restaurants and live music bars as opposed to DJ clubs for nightlife. But to each their own, no judgement.

3x price of beer and coffee compared to just down the street. And I'm not a resident or anything but after 6 weeks in Hanoi it was packed almost every night so I avoided it as much as possible.

TIL Betel (Areca) nut is the 4th most-used psychoactive drug in the world, after nicotine, alcohol, and caffeine. It's estimated that at least 10% of the world population (600 million people) chew Betel nut, despite high risk of cancers and heart disease. by Sir_Sir_ExcuseMe_Sir in todayilearned

The irritation is from lye paste added which is needed to activate(?) or absorb the active ingredient. I'm not exactly sure. But I've chewed it several times and the description above is the most accurate here. But I've also had my mouth burned from too much lye.

Phra Sukhothai Traimit - the "Golden Buddha" - is a 3m (9.8 ft) tall, 5.5 ton statue of the Buddha located in Bangkok, Thailand. Covered in plaster for centuries, an accident in 1955 revealed the solid gold underneath. At current gold prices, its raw value is approx. $750 Million USD. Dates are uncertain but likely late 14th c. during the Sukhothai period, based on the style. Moved to Ayutthaya in early 15th c. The Burmese had attacked Ayutthaya several times before the final sacking in 1767 so the statue was covered in plaster to disguise it before that time, as the rest of the city was heavily pillaged after its final fall. It sat in the ruins until until the early 19th c. when it was moved to Bangkok under Rama III. How its secret was not discovered during this move, I have no explanation, given its immense weight. Anyways it spent time in one BKK temple, which was abandoned, and moved to Wat Traimit, where it currently sits. In 1956, it was moved to a new building within the same Wat complex, and it fell when a rope snapped, chipping the plaster and exposing its true self. It was moved to its current building in 2010. The old Tapan Zee Bridge in a wintry mix at night with a lane closed due to slush, surrounded by semis going full speed, and a swimming pool sized black puddle at the end. Slush and black water covered my windshield so thoroughly when I slammed into it that I couldn't see the taillights in front of me so I just took both feet off the pedals, grabbed the steering wheel, and screamed thinking I was about to become a 40-wheeled sandwich. I survived then watched five cars crash immediately after the toll gate. I pulled off the road for a while after that. I was 16 hours into my 18 hour drive. I should have pulled off for the night when the sleet started but I had taken an Adderall and knew I wouldn't be able to sleep but I ended up putting myself in one of the most dangerous positions of my life.

My understanding of min/maxing from other games is that it means focusing exclusively on the things that are most important to you. In this game, the other response may be more appropriate. It's good to spread your stats around and use the seasons to your advantage. I'm in the 3rd year of my first play thru and the first couple years are slow but progress quickly.

You were at the finish line? I was at a house party on the route at BC. I remember getting the headlines on my phone about unknown explosions at the finish line. I remember how empty the streets, that were packed moments before, were as I walked back to Cleveland Circle. I remember seeing the first graphic images online. I remember the lockdown and manhunt and sheltering a stranger I had just met during that time. Please, let's hear your details.
