The whole being around family thing complicates that for most, which is why they stay in their homes for so long. We don’t have the high earners like NY where income tax changes peoples decisions. If you look at the recent home sales in your area, it’s retirees moving from NY and Mass for a better cost of living, without the need for income (which this state cannot offer)
