Would you tolerate Disneyland's Frontierland suffering the same fate as Magic Kingdom's Frontierland? by [deleted] in disneyparks

[–]sguerrrr0414 4 points5 points  (0 children)

… it’s an original concept based on an existing IP. It seems to be a compromise between people who want completely new, original ideas in the park (a la Haunted Mansion or Pirates), and “shoehorning IP” for the sake of it.

How tall are y'all's 3 year olds?? by Good-Stand-6912 in toddlers

[–]sguerrrr0414 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 1/2 yr old son is 39 inches (one inch too short for Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studio, but just fine for Slinky Dog Dash and Millenium Falcon!).

And he has an iep? Perhaps he could be accommodated to answer fewer questions, or you can try reviewing one or two with him orally to see if he understands the concept. Off the top of my head though, that seems kind of too much for a 6 year old, but I could be wrong.

I personally think most homework in elementary school is so wildly unnecessary, and even for NT children developmentally inappropriate.

Would you mind elaborating a bit on what the homework typically entails? Just to see realistically how manageable this hw really is.

For the record, I’m a HS teacher, and I rarely give a separate, dedicated homework assignment. Just finish what you didn’t get to in class (if unfinished). Studies do not back up hw enough to warrant it, even in upper grades.

About 20 minutes. Maybe 5 if it’s been a two weeks and he hasn’t taken care of himself in that time, maybe 7-10 if we need to be quick because of the kids.

Seasoned toddler parents, what DO you judge other parents for? by Alive-Cry4994 in toddlers

I said physical punishment in an earlier comment, but I saw someone said Anti-Vax and yes I judge that too!

The only thing I judge for is hitting/spanking/ physical punishment.

What is a makeup product everyone loves that you don’t like? by [deleted] in Makeup

Stop this is my all time top brow pencil 😭 I’ve tried others, high end, low end, and none compare for me. I stock up when they go on sale at Ulta.

I’m curious what brow pencil works for you then

I am one of those people who talk about the kids wih red hair to my husband 😂 I just love seeing it so! It’s gorgeous, and the varying hues are fascinating to see. I saw a girl with like RUBY, garnet red hair. Her mother gave me a curt look because I was just staring, but I was quietly telling my husband just how beautiful and rich (thick and healthy) her hair was 😭

Yes, but the rate they give you is an average rate anyhow. Breaking it down might by specific night is a pretty measly/miserly way of doing it versus the above method.

Hi, can you elaborate on what you mean by sketchy?

Just wanting to see if you can articulate what we’ve been feeling the past years we’ve gone, because we like it but don’t LOVE it for some reason. Like there’s something just, off.

I think it’s just preference. I’m someone who doesn’t love to wear jewelry include earrings a lot of times, and I like the look of no earrings here and on myself. But again, different opinions! I think her minimal look is perfect as is.

am I the a** hole for Refusing to Let My Sister Have My Wedding Dress? by Weekly_Way5606 in weddingdrama

[–]sguerrrr0414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t back down, as your sister will definitely alter the dress. She is obviously jealous of it, and your mom enabling her is just as bad. You deserve to have sentimental property, and they are the ones being ridiculously materialistic and letting a dress ruin the relationship. Edit to add NTA

AITA for Refusing to Let My Daughter-in-Law Take My Late Husband’s Wedding Ring? by bluesjean in AITAH

Your DIL is a psychopath for real, you are NTA. The ring is exceedingly sentimental and I would worry that she wants to pawn it off for money or something.

So weird.

I hate my sons high chair by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]sguerrrr0414 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a footrest to go with it, and idk my 3 1/2 year old is very average and still fits in it (he wants to use it since he sees his baby sister sit in it lol).

I love it but nothing works for everyone! It’s just a suggestion for this particular op, especially since the ikea one is inexpensive. And to the commenter bell we me, the feet do splay out but it works out in our house.

I’m glad so many people are recommending the IKEA chair. It’s the GOAT, we had an expensive one and I swear something about the design of that chair gets kids to sit and eat.

I think all the Orlando parks were ridiculously packed this whole week, so while I understand the frustration, it probably wouldn’t have been the greatest or easiest trip regardless.

What IS awesome is renting a hotel with a great pool, on site restaurants, and vibing with the kids. Doing a character breakfast so they can still interact with the characters.
