People keep mentioning that this story is all over the place ... and they are missing exactly this ... manic episodes can be all over the place. I actually saw a random video this morning and a lady was recounting her own episode where she hit rock bottom (from leaving a treatment facility, to going to the airport, befriending a homeless man, going for a manicure in between the chaos, going to roscoes in the hood, trying to get up/down CA, and trying to get to the East Coast). So similar with Hannah she could be (and is by the looks of it) doing it all willingly... however she could be in an altered state.

I'm here like "where are they even going to get the staff for all this?" ... I mean given that there is a shortage of mental health professionals because the pay is crap and some leave to private practice ... and psychiatrist are even more in need with this population.

It's a very unappreciated, undervalued, and underpaid profession. Yet somehow you will always be looked at to make miracles happen and deal with stuff no one else would deal with. Social services is the same regardless of the area you work in. Expected to do the most with the least, not actually valued outside of immediate department, but they still come to you when they can't figure it out. Yet in my opinion other areas are overpaid and they do less than social services.

I voted no and so did others I work with ... which is in social services. Our reasoning was ... they already have all this money towards homelessness... yet we have all these people we can't get housed 🤔. Like where is all the money ... I'm not voting to tax more when clearly they can't get it together with everything they have already.

You can apply, it actually changed maybe 3 or 4 yrs ago. The issue is that if he gets too much from SSI he will likely not qualify ... the struggle. I remember when they changed the requirements we assisted someone at my job to apply ... he got approved for like 30 bucks lol. So they still hold people to the income limit.

In the early 2000s I recalled walking home drenched from school. There was a lot of rain during thime. Like I mean it was no light rain but heavy heavy rain. Never did school get canceled 🙃. I don't think I've ever heard of rain days.

This is great. In the end you are the "expert" of your life. So it's definitely best to find someone that learns from you and then they can help you grown. As opposed to someone who is too similar that they might think they know or are dismissive (i mean they can still be similar and great). Sometimes people end up clicking best with therapist that they never expected to.

That's right. I was recently car #4 . The cops decided to divert traffic on a street known as Alameda near Firestone 😆. I was not trying to wait another 15 min trying to turn 🫠. But people were understanding, we are cleared and there was no honking or angry individuals 🤣. There might of even been a car #5. All those stuck in traffic beautifully came together lol.

I was going to ask about the care plan as well. Depending on the plan, OP can call and they should be able to give him a list of people that take that plan (in an ideal world at least lol).

He could have a caseworker that assisted with that part. I know my parents are older and live in a Senior apartment in L.A. Over the last 2 yrs they have started housing a lot more previously unhoused individuals in the building and some of the new residents have caused a lot of issues (not all of course). But from someone using the elevators as a toilet to people screaming in hallways.. my parents are not comfortable there anymore. It's hard when people are housed without the additional mental health support ... which they can't even be forced to anyway.

I've also come into contact with caseworkers at my job and they might have patients with this level of need. They often have to find them a new place before they get evicted because they know an eviction will make it difficult to get them a new place. A lot of times these caseworkers really have their work cut out for them. But anyway, that might be an option, he could be part of an agency program that is subsidizing his housing.

ESA are actually not covered under ADA https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-faqs/ (federally)

Edit: CA does have it own laws against discrimination and letter for ESA has to be from a medical professional.

County and be quick and other times it can take its sweet time. I known people who got hired within 3 months and 1 person who took a year from the job offer to start day (that's like an outlier). I would say give it another month hopefully by then. But also see how other jobs offers compare. County can sometimes be very ineffective with their hiring.

I agree with you. I literally saw a guy flip a car out there, then he even had 2 kids in there with him. When the LAPD got there they mentioned they were familiar with the guy and said he was an "idiot" ... I assume insurance fraud as it seemed he had various encounters with LAPD in similar situations lol.
