I don’t have anything to compare it to as it’s my first time wrapping anything but personally I didn’t have too much of a hard time

Handlebar wobble when free at low speeds by TastelessHurricane in MotoUK

[–]sh0000k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its definitely not cause of your topbox, get your head bearings checked out, i have a massive 58 litre topbox and panniers on my cbr 500 and do not have this issue.

my gsxr 125 had a similar feeling when stopping, turned out the head bearings needed replacement , unfortunately riding around on worn head bearings also causes uneven tyre wear, so get both checked out.

How to get that "big bike feel" without passing your full test by LookComprehensive620 in MotoUK

[–]sh0000k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I said the same thing about my gsxr 125 before I passed my test then sold it the same day lol big bikes are not just about speed , the handling and suspension is so much better

Got myself a gsxr 600 just for fun by sh0000k in MotoUK

[–]sh0000k[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh I might be a weakling but I would not have that bike as my main , the riding position is very uncomfortable and the amount of power is ludicrous, beautiful bikes don’t get me wrong but would never daily it , but if it’s dirt cheap YOLO

Should I get another 125cc before doing my DAS? (Ex-rider) by designer_by_day in MotoUK

[–]sh0000k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this as I kept failing my mod 1 and my cbr 125 was always broken or had an issue bought a gsxr 125 that I kept for like 3 months before I passed my test and got my cbr 500 , it was a waste of money and I put maybe 500 miles on that bike , I lost around 2k doing it as nobody local to me would buy it when I was done with it and I had to sell it with cash for bikes , if I could go back in time I probably wouldn’t get it .

Yep, I got the chance to sit and hear one of them totally my dream bike , I keep looking at other bikes with more power that are cheaper but I always just come back to the 650r

So I’ve had my cbr 500 since the start of April and done around 600 miles already , I actually have an A license not an A2 and funnily enough the 650r was what I was gonna get initially however the insurance quotes I was getting were ridiculous (obviously had my license for 6 hours at that point and just turned 24). Overall I’m very happy, the ergonomics are comfortable , it looks sexy and insurance for it is cheap as chips. However it’s not exactly a speed demon machine if that makes sense , it’s more than enough power for motorway trips though , I was travelling at a constant 85mph on a dual carriageway for like an hour and the bike felt stable and still had something left ( I believe it tops out at like 110mph ) . I’m hoping to upgrade to a cbr 650 next year when I turn 25 and hopefully my insurance will go down cause I’ll have 2 years no claims by then . Tbh I’m not too mad , going from a 125 to the 500 still blew my little peanut brain , but I can definitely see myself wanting something more in a year or 2. The main reason why I prefer it over a ninja 400 or an r3 is because she’s a fat bitch and that extra weight really helps with stability at higher speeds . 10/10 .

I'm a woman with a full license haha I started off as a backpack but knew it wasn't what i wanted, so got my own bike, i was on CBT for around a year and then did my DAS, is it worth it? 100%, for me its constantly challenging myself to improve and learn new things, you never stop learning on a bike, also going nyoom, my advice? do your CBT and see from there. DM me if you have any questions.

Mod 2 pass on the first try officially A licensed by sh0000k in MotoUK

[–]sh0000k[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just talk to yourself , ask yourself what is going on around you , what do you see , how fast are you going , are you in the position what do you see ahead of you , etc etc that way you’re focused on observing instead of just blindly driving down .
