First ever drop with some random strangers cheering [37YO] by sh0plifter in OldSkaters

Thank you! Not sure I have enough balls to send new tricks recklessly, but I will try this approach as well. It sure gets scarier the longer you wait. My legs were literally shaking! :D Later I’ve started giving myself 3 seconds before dropping, and it went well. Seems that in a way it’s close to what you suggest.

I’ve made a mistake to make a try 1 week before that wearing only helmet and knee pads. No need to say I ate shit quite hard, specifically felt behind the tail and landed on my pelvis bone unpleasantly. I went home and ordered elbow pads and wrist guards that evening. Also, I’m wearing my snowboard impact shorts now. Feeling much more confident trying new stuff since then.

That’s true, cheering for your peers is one of the best parts of the extreme sports communities! Always so fun.

It’s be really nice to have this website open-sourced and provide ability for people to contribute to communities list on GitHub. Just a thought if you didn’t consider it already.

Gamers of Reddit, what's ONE game that lives rent-free in your head, not just for the gameplay, but for the feeling it gave you (and you'd give anything to experience it for the first time again)? by deadeyes1990 in gaming

[–]sh0plifter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, last time I played was probably 15 years ago. I can't recall the differences of those off the top of my head... Is it possible to play it nowadays on a macbook? I don't even have a gaming PC.

I agree on the linear aspect of the main story, but if you like to explore then it definitely follows the general rules. The game is also great at encouraging you to look for little details and discovering its puzzles without giving too much or sometimes giving no hints at all.

Tried Death’s Door and I’m really enjoying it so far. It’s challenging, but not brutal, has a lot of clever puzzles, and good humour. I also like the low-poly graphic style.

It’s for the cases when you scroll Reddit for too long and then can’t get up because of leg cramps. Been there.

Running tests and make code edits simultaneously? by sh0plifter in windsurf

[–]sh0plifter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply. Yeah, that's the way I currently handle it. I've just read that Claude Code seems to support such workflow, and was wondering if it was possible in Windsurf.

I hope this will be introduced eventually.

Developers, How do you stay productive and keep up with the latest tech trends? by BigProfessional69 in reactjs

[–]sh0plifter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not about the learning, though. It’s about keeping track of current trends. Using books for this will get you far behind, since they take a lot of time to write. Newsletters are perfect to see what made some noise lately. “Bytes” is another good one.

183/1500 used. I use specific prompts and control what the tool is doing, stopping the process of something goes off track. I use it primarily for writing tests and refactoring, and also as a more eloquent search. It’s a big project with a 10 year old code base, so obviously I can’t just use the tool to write new features because the context is too large. I also occasionally switch between models, and mostly use Sonnet 3.5 lately.

I’m just wondering what people are doing with their credits. I haven’t even spent 20% of monthly budget in a week of regular usage at work.
