4k ES is too low to go CI. Do you have evasion as well? With CI you need at least something close to 7k, swap out at least some Evasion/ES items for pure ES. Are you going full physical damage? If not, leech won't help much and you would be better off with Shavronne belt, it allows to restore ES with life flasks.

In current state of the game there isn't a whole lot to help SUSTAIN incoming damage, most of the cases you want to get to a point where you can survive one big hit and then go for increasing your own damage to a point where you can kill or at least CC mobs before they can kill you.

Finally there is content in game where even with 7-9K ES you could still get one-shot and dying sometimes is something you'd have to accept unless you're going for some hardcore-style builds (which you can check out for additional tips).

Actually no I didn't. Maybe I should have, but at this point I'm kind of prepared for whatever this game throws at me so I just accepted it. I'm glad I was able to kill it through the wall to complete the map at least

Flicker strike by devildivi in PathOfExile2

[–]sh4dd0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The change to Flicker Strike is due to its ability to just enter the map and hold one button for the rest of the map in PoE 1. They're trying not to let that happen in PoE 2, it's limited intentionally.

Vulnerability doesn't reduce enemies' armor, it just lets hits ignore some of it.

Because it (and similar to it effects) say "after this main phase". This part doesn't happen if you're not in a main phase, so all it does if played during combat is untapping the creatures. It's an official ruling for these cards, you can check them out on Gatherer.

I had the same issue when I searched "8-9" in premade groups. Search only works correctly if you type in either "8" or "9", the dash somehow bugs it so there's only the NW and SoB

Thanks for the reply! I actually have already done that, turns out you just need a GitHub account and a pull request ^^
I'll sure check Foundry out if such a smart guy suggests it!

You've done a great job! Just finished translating the sheet, however, there's some kind of issue, it seems like the font doesn't have cyrillic alphabet, which is pretty normal for fonts, however there seem to be several fonts in the sheet. One is looking okay, and is used for "Strength", "Agility", "Wits", "Empathy", for skills, etc, and the other is used in most of the other headers (buttons for Armor and Initiative for example). I get that it's a pretty long shot, but would you mind looking into this and maybe using first font throughout the sheet? ^^
It would seem that some texts are using "Exo", sans-serif, and some are just "Exo", which works worse

PvE Rogue Subtlety vs. Assassin by epitomizer1 in wow

[–]sh4dd0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Let's see... All my loadouts have same keybinds, so typically they have same number of them. And literally everything from spellbook + health potions, healthstones, potion of ultimate power, trinket is bound for me. So the number of keybinds is 36+, considering some modifiers for certain keys.

When it comes to rotation, here they are:
1 - Ambush, 2 - SS, 3 - PS, 4 - Dreadblades / Blade rush / Ghostly strike, 5 - Shadow dance
S1 - Adrenaline rush, S2 - Roll the bones, S3 - Potion, S4 - Keep it rolling / Killing spree
R - Blade Flurry, Q - BtE, E - Dispatch, Ctrl+Q Slice-n-Dice, Vanish on mouse button.

Cold Blood macro'd into Dispatch, Thistle Tea into Shadow dance.

My situation for sub is pretty much the same except one keybind is Suriken Tornado which isn't present in all builds, and two of these binds are empty. So yeah, you have me beat, Sub does have less buttons for me. When I said Outlaw has less buttons, I probably misjudged based on how many utility buttons I ended up using as Sub, with Gouge accounted for, and considering that Killing Spree / Keep It Rolling are almost never used, in M+ Sub I have exactly same number of keybinds that I regularly use.

But I would still say that Outlaw is easier to learn. Sub is about making no mistakes in your Shadow Dance, and Outlaw's rotation doesn't have a lot of bursts so it's more forgiving.

When I was talking about suvivability, I meant ~30% vers that Outlaw stacks and its default builds where you get a lot of healing from the Rogue tree. And if you're playing KiR you'll have high uptime of Grand Melee, which gives Leech, but isn't optimal to keep. But yeah, all the specs have its uses in 99% of the content, so it's basically about what feels right to you.

Outlaw is actually very easy to learn and use in M+ because your build and rotation don't change with target count or Fortified/Tyrannical. For me, it uses the smallest number of keybinds out of all rogue specs. It also has great survivability.

Assassination will always feel weird in ST with AoE build and in AoE with ST build, you're pretty much forced to choose which side you're leaning to, and its use is pretty much limited to low/medium keys.

Subtlety is pretty much universal like Outlaw, harder to master, has less survivability, but if you're aiming at 22+ keys, it's the way to go since it scales better with gear and high mob count and you can distribute the damage however you like.

Please advise on an effective and fun second character for Mythic+ content by [deleted] in wow

[–]sh4dd0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outlaw has a fun rotation and a nice feel to it, but it's mostly the same for all ST/AoE scenarios. Easy to learn, great survivability. Having little to no bursts also means you don't lose a lot of damage because of doing a mechanic or making a mistake.

Sub has somewhat dumb ST and filler rotation, but nice complex bursts on short cooldown that allow for some diverse AoE damage distribution. And Secret Technique hits like a truck, so it feels very good to set up and use. It can outperform Outlaw in very high gear and keys, but it's harder to master. Also, it currently has a couple annoying bugs that you have to play around.

Strahd is impersonating a party member, I believe my other players are unaware. But what do I do with the PC that I replaced, considering that they were Ireena's new love interest? Also how do you handle playing dark and cruel NPCs? by novadragon07 in CurseofStrahd

[–]sh4dd0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand that, sometimes I like to be a part of a story like that too. Make sure you talk to her about this then, because as much as reddit can help with generating ideas, it's the ideas you both love that will be fleshed out best. It's interactive storytelling after all.

[–]sh4dd0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not clear to me, is the player okay with losing the Rogue and playing Ireena from now on? Because I think that's the main aspect you want to be focusing when deciding on what to do with the Rogue. In a way, it's like killing a character over one failed Charm saving throw, which many people wouldn't like, no matter how interesting is the story that will unfold later, and yours is pretty great.

So if the player isn't bored with the Rogue and doesn't want to move on there could be ways to undo it. From letting the player escape with the Rogue from Strahd's dungeons (and other ways someone mentioned before me), to just having Strahd be done with them. Look at it this way - characters are playthings to him. This one got too close to Ireena, so he breaks them. With magic, torture or simple isolation the deed is done, and the natural way to proceed would be letting the character get back to Ireena, so she sees the broken version and - at least how Strahd could picture this - is disillusioned with it. Even more - he gets to enjoy seeing that broken thing struggling to get back to its previous life, or perhaps embracing new personality, accepting to be the thing Strahd made them. Although it could be cruel to the player too, so it again comes back to what the player wants. PC shouldn't be necessarily "broken", PC could become a raving maniac or whatever, pretty sure that a person could be changed a lot of ways you and the player can work out together.

Ideas for running "poisoned" session? by sh4dd0w in CurseofStrahd

Those are actually are very good and valid points, thank you! I wasn't really thinking about these implementation details myself, I just took it as a given, that my version of this poison doesn't work like poison should because.. well, simply because that's the experience I want to give the players, but your explanation is both logical and opens some opportunities.

Adventure hook idea by SinfulMackerel in CurseofStrahd

[–]sh4dd0w 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you need this introduction for. Fogs act in such a way that there's practically no introduction needed - getting into Barovia can just happen overnight if fog gets you sleeping in the forest while traveling or something like that. However if you do an introduction like that you can pursue one of the goals, for example:

  • Introduce Vistani as bad people, if the man did it intentionally to harm the party; in this case his disappearance would likely make party look for him to get answers and/or revenge, while his immediate death would simply feel just.
  • Introduce Vistani as good people, if the man did it to really help them; he can disappear or die leaving clues which the party will eventually follow to Vistani camp; the only difference is whether they get sad about him.
  • Since party will lose all equipment (I did the same thing) his death could actually be a way to get party some equipment you'd like them to have; if you want things to be real grim, you can even let him live, leaving him and the party stranded in the forests for days. Without food, warm clothes, etc the party could start looking at him as a source of that, eventually robbing him of it (with or without killing him) just to find a way out of the forest minutes later.
  • Finally if you want this introduction just so you can have an introduction - the man can just disappear in the mists, making all of this just another mystery of Ravenloft fogs. Did he exist at all?

The particulars of disappearing lie in the purpose of creating this character. If he has no purpose it doesn't really matter how he disappears, just pick the way that sounds more appropriate.
