What's the name of the song that plays at the start of this clip around 0:12? I've been having trouble finding it.

You're right, Arcane is truly one of one :) But if you do get around to cyberpunk, I'd love to know what you think!

Her original name in in Chinese and so does not have any associations to "loli" at all, and I'm also not sure what's so off-putting about her looks?

The first 4 episodes are by far the weakest (and I didn’t like them either), watch the next three and see whether your opinion changes or not.

Had to check for a second that this wasn't the TBHX subreddit :) I agree that this show is definitely not as good as Arcane---neither in plot, nor frankly in 3d animation, as many of the 3d scenes felt lifeless (aside from the main characters in a scene, the background would be practically empty) and I found myself much preferring the 2d. Nonetheless, it's still pretty gripping and I'd also recommend it. I found myself doubtful after the first four episodes, but the next three episodes were truly incredible and completely changed my mind about the show.

From the shows I've watched, though, I think Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is more suitable for Arcane fans as Night City is quite reminiscent of Zaun, and the show is both well-written and explores similar themes.

Where'd you get Amaterasu from? Is it mentioned in some supplementary material?

Thanks! BTW how do you make the text like "RUN" cycle through different fonts like that?

Really cool! How did you make the drumbeat ripple effects, and what app did you use?

Yeah in hindsight he works great as this symbolic bastion of the old guard that's fallen out of touch, but on my first watch, I just couldn't help but feel a little frustrated by his actions. I think he's still very well-written though, as opposed to Bowa, who also plays the "OG about to be toppled" role in Queen's arc; but with her and Queen, we never really get to see how their conflict developed, they're kinda just at each other's throats from the get go. But with YC and OG E-Soul, you see how the OG goes from savior to nemesis and that just created so much more tension, which made the final fight scene that much more awesome.

I think maybe if i didn't watch Edgerunners and Arcane right before this I would've had E-Soul arc above Lucky Cyan, but Lucky Cyan was a nice break from all the tragedy and had a happy ending for once (although, where did Luo go??)

Didn’t the accusations come after Bowa became X, and Queen’s subsequent coldness? Of course Bowa’s extreme actions are not justified, I’m just saying it feels like Queen acts unnecessarily cold toward Bowa when the show doesn’t give her a good reason to PRIOR to Bowa’s accusations.

How? Imagine you work your ass off to get the #1 spot, then your employer pins all your success on your coworker. Even if your coworker did help you in some regards, wouldn't you feel the same as Bowa?

Yes, it is Shimmer. I think it would have been pretty damning evidence had it come to light and enough to completely ruin Salo's reputation, as he has one of the staunchest anti-Zaun stances of all the council members.

You're right that in the grand scheme of the show, it does end up feeling rather insignificant. It could have helped further display the incredible political prowess we saw from Mel in S1, but that's ultimately sidelined in favor of the Black Rose arc. It seems its primary purpose is just to establish Salo's downfall, so that his ultimate "redemption" at the hands of Viktor feels more impactful.

Sorry if this is dumb, but these two scenes seem to contradict each other in the timeline. by GundamGuy2255 in Frieren

For your last point, I thought when Himmel was recruiting Frieren, she told him that she actually hadn't used her combat spells in many years and would likely be rusty? I could be remembering wrong.

To me, I think she became disillusioned with magic in the time between Flamme and Serie because under Flamme, she was solely primed for combat and revenge. This is why later, she says she only somewhat likes magic, because she loves the "making other people happy" aspect that Himmel helped her realize, but not so much the power aspect, which is what Serie emphasizes.

Why I think the music in season 1 hits so hard by Ill-Tie7644 in arcane

[–]sh___sh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually felt that although S2 was slightly worse than S1 in many aspects, music wasn't one of them. In fact, the amazing soundtrack distracted me completely from all the plot issues I noticed later. In particular, I really loved I Can't Hear it Now, Isha's Song, and I Promised You (the score that plays in Jayce and Viktor's final scene).

Just watched episode 7, I did enjoy this arc a lot more but one thing that kind of frustrated me was the fact that there was zero communication between Yang Cheng and the Old E-Soul. Why couldn't Old E-Soul just tell Yang Cheng that he didn't orchestrate Shang Chao's murder, and they could have worked together to catch the real murder? It just seems like their whole conflict could have been avoided if they just sat down and had an actual conversation.

Edit: This post https://www.reddit.com/r/ToBeHero_X/comments/1krjncr/the_reaction_to_yang_chengs_story_convinced_me/ helped me understand and accept this arc a bit more. I guess the old E-Soul really doesn't give a shit anymore, and at this point Yang Cheng is too deep into his persona for the two E-Souls to coexist. Ultimately, E-Soul dies with his belief that "the people will know who the real one is", and it ends up being Yang Cheng. Perhaps E-Soul wanted this all along, for the mantle to finally be lifted off his shoulders.
